Bio

At the early age of 24, singer songwriter Violette shares with listeners her passion for the Afro-American music and culture. Her frank and poetic lyrics in English and French, combined with jazz-infused arrangements and strong pop sensibilities make her compositions at once upbeat and sassy, sensual and intimate.
Her latest album “Joie de Vivre” testifies to Violette’s versatility as a songwriter as she effortlessly blends elements from her favorite genres: soul, jazz, R&B and funk, all under the roof of a house whose foundation is built on her unique and expressive voice, one which is “…hauntingly beautiful, filled with sensitivity and a sense of mellow desire…” (Berklee Today).
Now calling New York home, the French native has already performed internationally in locales as diverse as Paris, New York, Boston, Senegal, Prague and Dubai in addition to slots at major festivals such as Cambridge Make Music, Boston Music Festival, Jazz a Sete, Jazz a Vannes, Jazz a Crest…
« A skilled arranger and composer, Violette is more than a singer : she is a complete musical package »
