“The city grows quiet as it’s coming alive, I hear you on the opposite side,” folk-rock singer/songwriter, VIRONA, sings about five cities he’s lived in. Born outside of Minneapolis, VIRONA (aka Vivek Khurana) is rooted in the Woodie Guthrie and Bob Dylan Americana folk presentation. College time in Iowa City and Philadelphia added influences from Sufjan Stevens, Conor Oberst and Ben Gibbard’s brilliant song craft. New York City revealed the space and time between music. Vivek ran a live performance production business out of his Nolita apartment while recording his first album with songwriting partner and UCLA conservatory composer, Neil Penninger. The distance at which Love and Erosion was forced to compose became unmanageable as Vivek settled in city number five, Los Angeles. VIRONA layers balladeer vocal melodies over bluesy rhythmic chord voicings, his sound lends itself to hand-clapping, yet is solemn.

“Acoustic EP” is independantly distributed by vLounge Records with five songs about a nighttime dance club in New York City, the question of commitment, the last electrical impulse which goes through the body before dying, work we do for love and relationships of our youth.
