"Pitchfork - Everything Awaits Demo by Visions Of Trees"

"Everything Awaits (Demo)"

Here's a demo stream of "Everything Awaits", a swirling, shadowy, dancefloor-ready number from London duo Vision of Trees. -

"Visions Of Trees"

Electronic music has struggled to deal with the 21st century.

Pacing forward into the future, when it finally got there dance music had a crisis of confidence. Recently, producers such as Washed Out, Neon Indian and Oneohtrix Point Never have injected electronic music with a sense of its own past.

Exhibiting a similar sense of sweet, melancholic nostalgia Visions Of Trees are two young talents from London. Joni and Sarah make the kind of bedroom pop which makes you want to close the curtains and roll under the covers...

Releasing the 'Sometimes It Kills' EP on Royal Rhino Flying last year, Visions Of Trees sparked a ripple of hype. Live appearances have been sporadic but gripping, with Moshi Moshi eventually snapping up the duo.

Due for a stand alone release, 'Sometimes It Kills' is set to be released as a single on February 7th. Directed by Ben Strebel and Lewis Kyle White, you can watch the striking video below... - Clash Music

"NME Breakthrough, Pick of the Week"

Disturbed, techie plumes of electronics and murderous melody from LDN girl/boy duo. Remixes under their belt for Everything Everything and plenty of gigs to come. - NME

"Everything Awaits Demo by Visions Of Trees"

East London’s Joni Juden and Sara Atalar have been unfairly pigeonholed as chillwave in the past but ‘Everything Awaits’ should finally end that erroneous tag once and for all. The skipping beeps and bleeps and trance edge strip the demo of any hazy connotations early on, leaving just the warm, refined strobes to cushion Sara’s club diva vocals. In thrall to blindingly bright lights and blurred vision, ‘Everything Awaits’ is more adrenaline-pumping dance workout than cloud-gazing bliss out and all the better for it. -

Sirens (Novocaine) - October 2011 on Deadly People

Visions of Trees are Londoners Sara Atalar and Joni Juden. They met in
the summer of 2009 and quickly formed a friendship over a love of Pop
music, R&B, and 90's dance.

They also shared an aesthetic interest in
the romantic wilderness and the solitude and escapism that it
represents. It didn’t take long for them to forge these two things
into a haunting and penetrating sound that takes advantage of the
sonic freedom afforded by electronic music to simultaneously evoke the
alienation of urban life and the serene austerity of nature.

In the two years since they formed, Sara and Joni have kept crafting
an ever growing sound that has remained distinctive and true.
Novocaine is no exception, Joni's moody, lush production, with its
stuttering drum breaks and sweeping synths, and Sara's crystal clear
voice combining far flung influences to make something new and

'Sirens (Novocaine)' is due to be released in October, through Deadly People. In
the meantime, catch Visions of Trees at festivals and shows through
the summer, including: Rockness (11th June), Glastonbury (24th June),
Lounge on the Farm (9th July), Field Day (6th August), Beacons
Festival (12th August).
