Bio

Visurreal is exactly what it's name suggests, the musicians create & improvise off of each other in an instinctive manner, but the music created is hallucinatory, heady, dreamy or spacey. This music is textured, melodic, and held together through the interpretation of three uniquely individual musical forces. Emerging out of Northwest Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, they are a new band with an old soul. A collaboration created through over 15 years of improvising & jamming in various projects between them. The rhythm section, John Gilmore and Paul Davis, go back the furthest. Meeting through a mutual friend, they began to bounce ideas off each other, but before anything serious developed, John made his way out west to join the rock band Envy, who eventually were signed to Warner Bros and entered into an “Artist in Development” deal and worked with famed record producer, Roy Thomas Baker. Paul, keeping his Connecticut roots, eventually got a recording deal as a solo artist with the Simsbury based Talcott Studios. While auditioning for a backing band, he came across a lead guitarist named Greg Kozlowski, who was currently playing in the space rock band Architectual Metaphor. They went on to record the better part of two albums together before Talcott Studios closed its doors. Around that time, John returned from California and joined the band Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, but the three of them played on and off in the band June Tuesday, a psychedelic concept project of Paul's, for several years. During the final days of June Tuesday, these three began experimenting in Paul's home studio with some ideas Greg had for an improvisational/instrumental album. The years saw them drift apart, but they had always vowed to return to where they left off, and now they have!!
