Vitals

BandRockNew Age

We're bearded dudes who enjoy constructing instrumental storyboards incorporating all sounds from ambient/shoegaze overtures to crescendos resembling a train-wreck. Our goal is to entertain not only aurally, but visually. We've included lighting to our set in order to accentuate the moods.

Biography

Vitals is a post-rock band hailing from Burlington, Vermont. Drawing inspiration from the unforgiving climate, they have crafted a sound that is oddly familiar while remaining unique. Once enough material was added to their r'epertoire, they hit the studio (Wasted City) to record two EPs, "The Legend that Was Earth"; "s/t", with engineer Justin Gonyea (Romans).

With the EPs done, Vitals began work on exposing these tunes to the world by first playing in their hometown with such great acts as Sick Puppies (Virgin records), The Urgency (Island/Def Jam), Constants (radar records), Junius (radar records), Carrigan (radar records), The Lymbyc Systym (Mush records), Rookie of the Year (111 records), Romans (Black Market Activities), and Trophy Scars (the death scene) on many occurences. The urge to tour out of state was overwhelming, and with dedication and a DIY approach, it became a reality crafted by their own terms. The band played SXSW, sharing the stage with This Will Destroy You (Magic Bullet Records), Russian Circles (Suicide Squeeze), Genghis Tron, Maps and Atlases, and others.

Currently the band is working on a short east coast tour with Eksi Ekso (Magic Bullet), and Burbis.

After their first successful North-east tour with fellow Vermonters, Maui In Ithaca, Vitals have continued to fine-tune their sound to a science and are hard at work on a follow-up LP.

Set List

Our set is typically a little over thirty minutes for six songs with the average song length being five minutes. However, we have alternate sets depending on the crowd, which is easy with the large selection of original compositions we've written in the past year.

The current set list I love playing is:
1. At these heights
2. Dorsai!
3. Terrifying Storms of Incredible Beauty
4. The Mocking Program
5. Conquering Lands Once Dreamt Of
6. These Constellations Shall Guide Us Home
