Vodka Had Russia comes from Athens, GA. I recently moved to Portland, OR to see what all was going on. I never really looked for music, it somewhat found me. I started playing the piano as a kid. After that, everything else sorta just fell into place. Picked up drums rather quickly, took me a little longer on the strings. Have never quite found my ideal voice, but who has. Maybe Brian Wilson.
The songs I create are meant to be shared by all people. To unite, not divide like most music does these days. Something that sounds like a feeling. Be it happy or sad. Inviting or scary. Good or bad.
I guess my main influences are Steve Malkmus, Brian Wilson, James Jamerson, Paul McCartney, MF Doom, David Byrne, maybe The Unicorns. Maybe.
Nothing sets my band apart except for that it is my band. Bands should be helping each other out, anyway.
