V.O.I.C.E

They call him Voice, but his name is Curtis McFarland - Founder and Visionary Leader of V.O.I.C.E Ministries. V.O.I.C.E stands for Victorious-Overcomers-In-Christ-Eternaly; and he is a direct example of one who has victoriously overcome obstacles in life. His formative years were spent traveling back and forth between step-mother and mother, from the east coast to the west. He has been victorious in spite of the lack of an earthly father and has overcome the obstacles of bitterness and depression. It was in Christ that he found strength, peace, and guidance; and today he shares the passionate message of eternal life with a radical fire that continues to burn. At age 16 he was called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and although he admits it has not been an easy road, he continues to remain true to himself and the assignment placed upon his life. After being discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps with awards and decorations, he received a degree in Theology from National Bible College, by way of Washington Bible College in Lanham, MD. Through good times and through bad he has constantly displayed passion in his study and teaching of Gods Word. In the summer of 2003 he decided to put his gift of poetry and music production into play. To sharpen his skills he attended the world renowned Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA. While at MI, he received a certificate in Audio Engineering and Music Production. In 2004 he opened V.O.I.C.E Recording Studio / V.O.I.C.E Productions, and shortly after the death of his step-mother in 2005, he teamed up with his cousin and multi-talented rapper James Emanuel (AKA: J.R.O.C) and began the project “Move Forward”. As a minister, poet, and producer he introduces Poetic-Sermonic Hip Hop. As one who understands the shift that is taking place in the earth, and the season that the world is currently in; his goal is to inspire the people of God to crave for an understanding of why you believe what you believe. He does not choose Christianity as his religion, but as his faith. His faith as well as his music is his way of life, and he states that, “You can’t just talk about it; you have to be about it”. With this debut album his goal is to grab the hearts and minds of the Hip Hop Generation within the Body of Christ, giving them not just Christian entertainment, but also to inspire them to become more knowledgeable in the scriptures in an attempt to overcome any obstacle in life due to the power of Gods word. Its only by the word of God that you can be a true V.O.I.C.E. As a Minister of the Gospel he serves faithfully at the Spirit of the Living God Christian Center in Forestville, MD, under the tutelage and leadership of Bishop Billy Saint-James. Within the journey of life he has made beats on desk’s, walls, buckets, and canteen cups with a slight hum & whistle for a melody. He has held Bible study from High School classrooms and Military dorm rooms to Church Sanctuaries. Now the world will hear his cry. Now the world will hear passion from the arrangement of his music to the fire in the lyrics of V.O.I.C.E. He will not cease to let you know that “A relationship with the Lord is the Key”, therefore, “Failure is not an option”.
