Lyrics

Preach Christ

Written By: B. Truelove

(Hook)
When I’m on the street corner, I’m gon’ preach Christ
And when the Devil tries to scorn you, I’m gon’ preach Christ
And when temptation runs up on you, I’m gon’ preach Christ
And when it comes Sunday morning, we still
We still gon’ preach Christ

(Verse 1)
Living out the gospel
His verbs I don’t deserve
His words hits hearts harder than cars that hit the curb
He split waterfalls into what Moses had observed
I always preach the gospel and sometimes I use words
Being a witness on the corner without the Ken Cole’s
Anybody can preach but only the wise can win souls
Tired of backsliding every time the wind blows
Dog, I’m just having fun
Yeah, but it’s a sin, though
Brotha’s been called to preach
I’ve been given the great commission
That means preaching Christ if the beat ain’t hitting
That means preaching Christ if the track starts skipping
That means preaching Christ to cats that won’t even listen
I’m reaching people’s hearts by the way of the eardrum
In Christ, I’m happy like an old lady shopping in Pier One
Being in God’s will there is nothing we won’t achieve
But if the gospel be hid, it is hid to those who don’t believe

(Hook 2x)

(Verse 2)
We in the last days and time is blitzing in
How you call yourself a Christian and you go years without witnessing
The gospel is priority it’s time we get this in
If we’re not preaching the gospel then we are assisting sin
Let’s spread the Word of God way before the eclipse beings
Christians are too comfortable we need to twist and bend
We speaking words of life but the world ain’t listening
We need to get in the same war the apostles listed in
Preach Christ to the man who thinks drinking is the solution
Preach Christ to the twelve year old living in prostitution
Preach Christ for the war going on overseas
Preach Christ for those who seek the Lord and still ain’t hitting their knees
Without Christ, your friends will be hot, in Hell roasting
With Christ, your friends will be in Heaven toasting
To the lamb of God who died for man
And if you don’t preach the gospel then the blood is on your hands

(Hook 2x)

The Oven

Written By: B. Truelove

(Hook)
Don’t ever be afraid of life’s storms when they surface
When the raging waves of life come, you’ve gotta surf it
Being in the refiners’ fire is way worth it
‘Cause in my weakness, Your strength is made perfect

Don’t ever be afraid of life’s storms when they surface
When the raging waves of life come, you’ve gotta surf it
Being in the refiners’ fire is way worth it
‘Cause in my weakness, Your strength is made perfect

(Verse 1)
Bring on persecution, bring on tribulation
Bring on the hard times because they produce patience
When the trials come
We automatically hate them
But those who God loves are the same ones He chases
I’ve been through hard times stuff you can’t even imagine
A twelve year old homeless in the back of a station wagon
Holes in all my clothes, all the other kids were laughing
Wearing stuff that looked like I got it out the trash can
My mom was on crack so I moved in with my dad
The next thing I know my dad start smoking crack
No one would take me in
Nobody had room
All alone, I enrolled myself in middle school
I was tired of not having money, I was tired of being hungry
I was tired of going to school and all of the kids calling me bummy
I swore to myself I would never be homeless again
So at thirteen I started to sell crack with my friends

(Hook 2x)

(Verse 2)
At sixteen money was my God and I wasn’t shunning
Had the trunk popped, selling liquor at homecoming
Throwing wild parties where people got shot and murdered at
I was making money but feeling lonely like a tunnel rat
My cousin invited me to a service for the youth
I thought it would be a bunch of old men in tight suits
Walked in the church, still inwardly fussing
The first thing I noticed was dudes rapping without cussing
I just ignored them but their flows were sickening
My ears start listening
They talked about sinning men
Teenagers worshiping God in hoodies and Timberlands
A true conviction fell hard
And nobody yelled timber, man
That night, the first time that night I heard the whole gospel
Death, burial, resurrection, the whole gospel
Not church jargon but I mean the whole gospel
That night I accepted Christ, so now I live to spread His gospel

(Hook 2x)

(Verse 3)
As Christians we are promised to go through hard times
God brings some storms but most of the storms, we find
I ain’t got no money
God didn’t tell you to get that Lexus
I ain’t got no friends
God didn’t tell you to move to Texas
Storms often seem like they last shorter than longer
Let me be made weak so I’ll know the one who’s stronger
Seeds need pressure to produce fruit of some kind
I gave Christ my life ‘cause I sucked at trying to run mine
The fire can make some feel dumb and blind, combined
I guess the shadow really does prove the sunshine
This is for my Christians in the fire for real trying
He tried to clip our wings but guess what we still flying
Trials can make some give up, your zeal’s dying
1 Peter 5:8 I kill lions
Embrace your hard times, don’t let Satan even deceive you
I won’t run from that which makes me a better believer

(Hook 2x)

The Anthem

Written By: B. Truelove

(Hook)
We following Jesus, not going back to Egypt
We are true believers; we pray that y’all believe us
There is only one name we follow and give praise to
JESUS CHRIST!

(Verse 1)
Not going back to the world that ain’t got nothing to offer me
It’ll only give you poison that will straight have you coughing, B
Everything that Satan gives is super duper costly
It will rob you of your joy and peace and kill you softly
Living and paying bills is what they say that it’s all about
But those are all lies and it’s time that we called them out
The world is self-seeking
They live and die for the weekend
Afterward you feel empty ‘cause your soul’s been leaking
It’s an emotional rollercoaster
Heaven is farther but Hell is closer
If you have any questions please flip your cell and phone me
At the end of your fun if you’re still feeling spiritually lonely
After you drink, you go home
After you high, you go home
After you slept with all of those people
Guess what, you go home
When you leave the party of the year
Guess what, you go home
And you still don’t know the King of Kings who’s on the throne
WHAT!

(Hook 2x)

(Verse 2)
I’m saying this because a lot of souls are decaying
Christians going back to the world to be friends with Satan
Hey, Mom, I’ve got a friend who wants to steal, kill and destroy me
That’s great, baby, we’ll have him over for dinner on Sunday
NAH!
Satan is playing some Christians just like a fiddle
Hearts are turning from God, becoming toxic and brittle
Accept the spiritual riddles got you fooled more than a little
He even got some of y’all chasing the rainbow like Skittles
Come back to Christ, in Him is no condemnation
Christ has made reservations, just receive the invitation
You got a hunger in your heart no one else can feed it
Ain’t you heard you got a hole in your heart the size of Jesus

(Hook 2x)

(Verse 3)
Some of us been holding hands and even kissing doubt
As Christians sometimes we feel like we are missing out
I’ll be the first to tell you, man, we ain’t missing nothing
Actually in Christ we have been missing something
Missing out on getting shot at one of these dangerous parties
Missing out on getting some cirrhosis and dying from the Bacardi
Missing out on ruining lives and leaving families with kids
Missing out on breaking the law and going to jail for years
Don’t love this world, should be mentioned twice
This world will rob you blind, like when you are renting bikes
This world is evil and cold, please avoid hitting this ice
This world ain’t got nothing on what we are getting in Christ

(Hook 2x)
