"New CD by Voice Trek"

Voice Trek has a rich, clean, poised sound, and arrangements that can turn very familiar tunes and make them into new songs, unexpectedly tasty musical treats. There's a spirited, sassy cover of Rossini's 'William Tell Overture' that would have the Swingle’s looking over their shoulders. Each song is a many-faceted gem. 'An A cappella Trek” is a joy from beginning to end, one of the best Vocal Jazz CDs we've heard this year! - Singers.com

"An A cappella Trek is 5-Stars!"

This monster of an album is like Singers Unlimited for the 21st Century: world class, play-it-again-many-times, how- do-they-do-that, wonderful!
- A-cappella.com

"An A cappella Trek"

Stunning arrangements and world-class vocal abilities fill this exciting new release. Jazz and music fans everywhere will love AN A CAPPELLA TREK with its wide variety of favorites! - Sandy Shore, Smooth Jazz.com

"They'll knock your socks off!"

“The very best at close harmony and group singing. A vocal group supreme!” - Leigh Kamman, The Jazz Image

"Voice Trek: At Last!"

While they can assert their virtuosity in the manner of Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross with the gusto of their tricky unison figures, they sound even better with their polyphonic harmonies and their a cappella stylings. - Cadence Magazine

Bio

Voice Trek has been thrilling listeners with their impeccable vocal skills since 1987. Their astonishing adaptability and inventive arrangements have defined this vocal quintet as one of the topmost in their genre. Voice Trek has traversed the Jazz landscape with ease, and like true explorers they've expanded their panorama even further with a myriad of influences to create their distinctive sound.

Though Jazz is the group's foundation, their house is "the house that harmony built." Time and again Voice Trek delivers the music and the message both in studio and on stage. Based in Minnesota, the all-original members of Voice Trek are Shelley, Vicki, and Rae Plaster - three sisters known for their dazzling vocal mix; the group's tenor, Denis Allaire, a specialist in vocal percussion and vocal instrumental sounds; and bringing up the bass is the dynamic Kevin Smith, the irreplaceable bottom line.

A multitalented prolific group with numerous CD's in their catalog, Voice Trek has recorded and received airplay in several genres. They have hundreds of performances to their credit and have appeared in performance venues around the globe - from Minneapolis to Montreal, to Montreux, and with such renowned artists as Rosemary Clooney, Janis Segal (Manhattan Transfer), and the New York Voices. They've been presented with first place awards in national vocal competitions; have won Minnesota Music Awards; garnered art grants through the National Endowment of the Arts; and recently won the prestigious McKnight Fellowship for 2005-06. Voice Trek's newly released CD "An A cappella Trek¨ is already receiving enthusiastic reviews from fans and critics alike.
With undeniable talent and ear-catching multiplicity, these premium performers bring something for every music lover to the stage. A Voice Trek performance is a performance to remember.

• Recipients of the prestigious McKnight Fellowship for Performing Artists 2005-06.

• In Feb 2006, "An Acappella Trek" is nominated for two 2006 CARA Awards - Best Jazz Album of the Year, and Best Song of the Year

"Voice Trek is cut from the same tree as the Hi-Lo's and the Singers Unlimited. They have in common with those two groups a purity of voice, unassailable intonation, instinctive rhythm, and the ability to get inside the most complex arrangements and never lose their way. They are five people who understand the most beautiful sound that music has to offer, namely, that of the human voice, and have taken it to new and sublime heights. They are a must listen for anyone who has music in their heart and soul."
~ Jeremy Lubbock, Grammy Award Winning & Internationally recognized Songwriter, Arranger, and Producer.

"Treat yourself to something that will blow your mind away. Gorgeous singing, so in-tune that when they sing in unison, you can't tell there are 5 of them!¨
~ Carol Kaye, "First Lady¨ of the Bass Guitar

"Voice Trek is an amazing group. They are capable of harmonies that most vocal groups could only dream of.¨
~ Lowell Pickett, Owner of the Internationally recognized Dakota Jazz Club, Minneapolis
