Bio
Voicst provide in-yer-face highly inflammable music. Some tag it as ADHD, others just call it pop music; it's always energetic, catchy, loud and direct. Live they set the house ablaze in a way that would see Mr. Bush green with envy. Using musical and lyrical missiles inspired by the likes of Cornelius, Tom Waits, N.E.R.D., the Melvins, Kaito, John Coltrane, QOTSA, Enon, Peaches and Townes van Zandt; Voicst are always ready to explore.
In Europe Voicst has supported bands such as Tenacious D, The Raveonettes, Bettie Serveert, Nada Surf, Enon, Ikara Colt, Black Heart Procession, Mclusky and Millionaire. In 2003 they performed at the CMJ, Lowlands and Metropolis festivals; did several radio and TV shows, and got cool (live) reviews in most Dutch magazines and papers. Trips abroad brought them to Belgium, Germany, UK and the US. Voicst itself is Amsterdam based.
After releasing an EP on Labelman Records in the Benelux, Voicst will be recording their debut full length this summer in New York with Eli Janney (producer / mixer / engineer for Girls against Boys, the Rapture, Brainiac, and many more). The record will be released in the Benelux September 2004. Voicst is currently unsigned for other territories, and is specifically looking for a label and agent in the US, UK, Germany and France.
