Bio

Starting out in 2003 as a Singer/Songwriter project, by 2004 Void of Air had evolved into a serious band bringing out their first maxi single titled “Laughter in the Rain.” The single didn’t go unnoticed by the press and earned reviews in which leadsinger Johan Jeras was acclaimed for his charisma and sublime voice. “With a delightful mix of Singer/Songwriter and Rock influences,” Gabriella van Karsbergen, journalist of the Dutch music magazine Fret, compares them to groups like Keane and Counting Crows.

The full-length album was quick on the heels of single and christened: “Poetry for Dummies”. The album was well received, confirming expectations that Void of Air have the potential to grow into an exceptional band of International standards. Freelance journalist Linda in’t Hout describes Void of Air as having a warm, dreamy sound, but powerful nonetheless. She continues by saying that their exceptional talent, well-thought-out lyrics and perfect arrangements distinguishes them from the masses of rock bands today.

Music magazine Fret follows in stating that “You can hear that Void of Air really knows how to make music: unpretentious with beautiful melody lines.”

Music magazines FRET and 3VOOR12: Poetry For Dummies is an excellent debut album ". Music magazine LiveXS: "Void or Air set with this cd a high standard." "Absolutely a band that can come far in the scene" (3voor12).

The success of Poetry for Dummies has led to numerous gigs at clubs and festivals around the country. The 5 man strong band is now ready to spread its wings and go abroad.
