Voilà!

Voilà! is a piano , a guitar, a bass and a drum . It's also a glockenspiel , a crafted lapsteel , violins , a typewriter and a bunch of other monophonic instruments. But Most of all , Voilà! is a collective attempt to recreate emotions not describable by words only. Partly instrumental, they exploit the power of musical intruments combined with drowned vocals to recall such atmospheres. Their sound is comparable to bands like Pink floyd, Radiohead, Godspeed you! Black Emperor and Patrick Watson, yet conserving various influences from world music.

This past year, the band has randomly toured Québec, playing in festivals like Antenne-A and Under the snow and following bands for a few gigs like Patrick Watson, where the necessity of recording an album was pointed out incessantly.

Voilà is presently recording at the breakglass studio ( Wolf Parade, Besnard Lakes, Patrick Watson, Malajube) with Jace Lasek (Besnard Lakes) and Dave Smith , the men behind most of montreal's indie scene.

2008 will be an important year for the band, while plans to relase a full-lengt record are being made.
