Volatile Solvent is a techno project started by d.j./producer/techno enthusiast Chad Roberts. Chad grew up in a Michigan Suburb approximately 45 minutes west of Detroit. During the summer of the year 2000, when he was just 16 years old he ventured to his first underground warehouse party in Detroit. Captivated by the music and the culture in Detroit and according to his own words, "experiencing the closest thing to a religious experience," he has ever had, out on the dancefloor totally enraptured by the music, He made techno, more specifically the darker side of it, his everything. In 2002 he started to mess around with trying to beat match vinyl techno records that he would buy from Detroit Threads and Record Time and producing tracks using software. in 2010 he finally got his first hardware synth/drum machine and started doing everything he could to learn the gear inside out and create the sound that he is infatuated with. In 2019 Chad's productions caught the eye of d.j./producer/label boss at Bang le' Dex Recordings, Taigo Onez. Taigo signed his Volatile Solvent Project to Bang le' Dex in 2019 and since then he has released 2 EP's with the label. The Girl With The Techno Tattoo EP (2019) and The Molecular Perfection EP (2020) which featured remixes from Iowa Techno producer Colin Cook and Chicago techno producer Antonio Lumbardo.The Molecular Perfection EP also received a very supportive review from German Techno legend Sascha Muller. In 2019 Volatile Solvent also became a part of the Detroit Techno collective Techno Snob. Techno Snob is a aparell/event promotions company that sponsors techno artists from Detroit and beyond.
