Producer Don Dixon says, "Volatile Baby sounds like The Carter Family & The Roches decided to team up and record a bunch of newly discovered Gram Parsons songs." Known for their exquisite harmonies and incredible songs...Volatile Baby will always deliver an unforgettable performance....

Biography

Brenda loves Bowie, Allison loves Tori, and Gina loves just about anything with a southern accent...VB is brand new traditional country... and sometimes VB takes on a neo-classical string influence... but always, the thing about these three women is the harmonies... and the choice of just plain good songs....

they tend to be a little ahead of the rest...people compare them to the dixie chicks....but usually only to say "I like them better than the dixie chicks!"

Volatile Baby is the love child of three semi-southern artists: Gina Stewart, Brenda Gambill and Allison Modafferi. Gina, songwriter, actress and composer for the theatre; Brenda, a songwriter, violinist and percussionist from The Doubting Thomas Band; and theatre director and pianist Allison Modafferi are creating a musical landscape that pushes traditional boundaries and pulls at the listener.

Volatile Baby's new release, Traveling Light is available in May, 2006. Guest musicians include Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter Cash, Jim Brock, former drummer for Kathy Mattea, Don Dixon and Wayne Jernigan.

Don Dixon (REM) produced their first full length CD and describes the band best: Volatile Baby builds on the grand tradition of female vocal groups while adding their own ingenuity, spirit, instrumental prowess, and joy. Their inimitable chemistry shines through their songs live and in the studio.

Lyrics

blue lights

Written By: gina stewart, brenda gambill and allison modafferi

blue lights on the landing...in that place where she found those wings...a little short on understanding..it's all about the little things....

will there ever be a sign clear enough to lift you up we're landing...without wings...oh it's the little things that matter...when you fall....when you fall

on a birdge to forever...in that place where she heard you sing...and somewhere off in the distance...there's a circle and a fiery ring...oh this beautiful view....you should have taken with you....
all the beautiful signs..you left...dropping feathers on us all

will there ever be a sign clear enough to lift you up we're landing...without wings...oh it's the little things that matter...when you fall...

blue nights never-ending...in that place where she found her wings...and a silent understanding...
it's all about the little things...
