Down In A Cell is Volume Five's debut record and has been highly acclaimed. They are currently working on their follow up effort in hopes for a release date around the fall of 2010.

Volume Five got it's start in the latter part of 2007 as just some friends getting together to do some picking. After a few short jam sessions it was apparent that this configuration had something unique to offer the bluegrass public. As Glenn Harrell said "We didn't even have to really try to make it sound right." It just sort of came naturally. It comes as no surprise that they sound so tight musically, considering each member's impressive track record.
Glenn Harrell, who plays fiddle and sings with Volume Five, is from Iuka, Mississippi, and has been touring the bluegrass circuit for about 20 years with several well known acts. The last five years saw him playing fiddle and singing with the legendary country and bluegrass singer Marty Raybon. His tasteful playing and singing are a delight to anyone who hears them.
Casey Culwell, who plays banjo, guitar and sings with Volume Five is from Blountsville, Alabama and has been a member of several local bands and played with Stan Nelson and Hurricane Creek for about three years before coming back off the road. Casey has been playing music since he was a child and is without a doubt one of today's predominant players on a variety of instruments, and a fantastic singer to boot.
Chris Williamson, who plays bass and sings with Volume Five is from Homer, Georgia and has been playing music for the most part of his life. The last two years saw him touring the country with the incomparable Randy Kohrs. His rock-solid bass playing would be a strong backbone for any musical act, and could not be a more perfect fit for Volume Five.
Jesse Daniel, who plays mandolin and sings with Volume Five, is from Pisgah, Alabama and is another alumni of Randy Kohrs great band. He has also played with the Anita Fisher Band, and many local groups. Coming from a musical family, Jesse learned quickly what makes a band click, and his lightning fast, clean picking is sure to impress.
Adam Duke, who plays guitar and sings with Volume Five, is from Cullman Alabama and made his debut into the bluegrass world with David Davis and the Warrior River Boys. He toured with the Warrior River Boys for two and a half years and his strong rythym and singing are sure to leave you smiling.
