Groovy basslines and euphoric soundscapes pepper “Untitled”. Vonmodik, the alter ego of Chad J.W. Anderson, is an innovative electronic venture that centers around stellar vocal arrangements. He feels that vocals are and should be a separate instrument and he proves that theory with glossy vocals like on “I’m Not Here”, which really showcases perhaps his greatest talent. Vonmodik is the alias name and alter ego of Chad J.W. Anderson. What you have here are 14 tracks of avant-garde, electronica, trance, ambient, and techno instrumentals, interspersed with some occasional vocal bits. It makes for a pretty intoxicating listen, at times the programmed synths and drums actually climb to such a pulsating crescendo that you can actually dance to the music. On some songs, Vonmodik creates an almost Tangerine Dream-like wave of ominous sound. There's even a little Latin electronic (!) style on the lovely "Fede Della Casa", a song featuring plenty of groove and repetitive rhythms. On "I'm Not Here", the one song that features vocals, thing slow down a bit and take on a more prog rock tone. In 2005 on his debut album, 'Untitled', lyrics tell simple truths with his thoughts and feelings woven throughout. In particular songs, the melodic, emotion laden tracks are so powerful, lyrics are neither used nor missed. Those that do include lyrics use them sparsely to make the point the songwriter has envisioned, allowing the listener to conjure up their own mental images of what the songs portray. As would be expected from such an eccentric, the album comes together as an avant garde soundtrack rather than a commercially driven collection. It is a soundtrack to an unconventional, stylish, puzzling story – his own. Like interpreting the emotion in a painting in their own mind, listeners react to Vonmodik’s music in their own personal way.

Vonmodik is a psyche. A thought. A secret agent of the mind. A place you want to be, a feeling you've had. A dream. A scene from your movie. A moment with a new found love. It is what you want to be. What you dream of becoming. Vonmodik is brief. It is fleeting, like a dream that runs from you the moment you wake. For me, Vonmodik is many things... unexplained, random, emotional. It can be whatever you want it to be. It is always different for everyone and you have to be drawn to it. Vonmodik music is free of form and free of boundries.
