In the middle of his last Billboard album release entitled, Money Already Made, which featured artists like Lil KeKe from SwishaHouse Records and Bushwick Bill from legendary hip hop group, The Geto Boys, All-American athlete and Rice University graduate, Von Won, decided to change up the street influenced style of music he was creating. After coming home from a concert in Houston,TX, he was arrested in an incident that lead to him being tazed 4 times and brutally attacked by police. He had the same booking agent as 2x platinum artist Lil Flip and was seeking a national recording contract with Universal and Sony, but after that close to death encounter he realized all the money, cars, jewelry, drugs and women werent as important as a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Von Won then teamed up with Tre9 and Much Luvv Records, possibly the most successful Christian Hip Hop based label in Texas and began work on his "Rise to the Top" project. The album includes Tre9, Ras, BB Jay, S.O.M., Litarodi, Sheep In Wolves Clothing and more! Von Won has been labeled as one of the most lyrically talented artists in Urban Gospel music. Born in St. Croix of the US Virgin Islands and raised in Houston,TX, his versatility sets him apart from the pack as he sings, raps and brings some reggae flavor to the Holy Hip Hop game.
Von Won is performing & speaking in schools, churches, prisons, community centers & other venues in the United States year-round. This year he is scheduled to take his ministry to the UK, Africa, and other locations around the globe.
