"A Beautiful Glowing Sound...Rolling & Tumbling Pop Music"

A Beautiful, Glowing Sound - There's much to be made of VOX POP'S rolling & tumbling pop music. It's all at once soothing, but that tranquility - inspired interestingly by a flurry of multiple instrumentation, masks the depth of the lyrics and the urgency of (singers) Jamie & Katherine's vocals. The band uses guitars, cellos, violas, snare drums, synthesizers, medieval harmony and glockenspiels in their recordings - providing real depth and the mark of professionalism needed for the band to stand out from their music peers in Brooklyn.

Highly Recommended - Much of Vox Pop's soon-to-be-released debut album was recorded in a small room in Oakland, CA before they ventured down to Los Angeles to mix their first EP, the red-hot "French/Funeral" (2012), with Danny Kalb (Beck, Ben Harper). This is Vox Pop's first Outlaw Roadshow. We think they could be the next big thing and are simply delighted to have them with us in Austin! - RSL Blog

"Scottish Born Indie: Vox Pop / 'Paper' might be one of the best songs I've heard so far this year"

Vox Pop are a proudly international band hailing from Scotland, and eventually finding their way over here to NYC. Their new 4-track EP 'French/Funeral' is filled with the spirit of these cosmopolitan personalities as each of their voices rise to the top of the mix... and somehow don't appear to struggle against eachother to get there. A solid colllection of love jams set to war marches, searing vocals, and bizarrely un-nerving samples. And oh yeah.. 2nd track 'Paper' might be one of the best songs I've heard so far this year. Listen below. - Mike Levine (@Goldnuggets) - The Deli Magazine

"VOX POP IS POSITIVELY POP-TASTIC"

The thing about being tickled is that you have no control over your facial contortions. You look really dumb, and your abdomen actually aches afterwards. Likewise, sometimes music tickles our ears so hard that we lose control over our face, and it’s obnoxious, really, but we love it. Good music makes us feel good, and Vox Pop is obnoxiously good music.

The Brooklyn-based foursome (via London via Edinburgh via San Francisco) are a big gulp of laughing gas daring you not to crack a smile. Spoiler alert: you fail. Their textured, experimental pop exuberance is the sound of friends who love making music so much that it just pours out of them, forming colorful tracks with ease. French/Funeral is a four-song, harmony-laden, hook-drenched, multi-instrumental set of monster jams out for blood. JK – they just want to tickle you.

Vox Pop’s French/Funeral is a positive energy transfusion, and I guarantee you’re going to love listening to it. Research shows that laughing for 15 minutes a day can burn 10-40 calories, and French/Funeral clocks in at just around 15 minutes. Easiest exercise you’ll ever do — get to work! - Wild Honey Pie
