"S.H.H.I.N"

Hails from the legendary Queens, the North side to be exact. The same area as Russell Simmons, Run DMC, LL Cool J & many other greats. VSV gets his name from his given name, Von Seymour, and Verse, which are short for, versatile. VSV started paying attention to music at an early age. He was the pup that ran with the big dogs. He has played many roles including Street Team, DJ, Intern, Manager, Editor, A and R, Producer, Songwriter, and now Artist.

In the early summers around the ages of 12 and 13 he began DJing at local parties and BBQs. In 2002 at the age of 14, and a freshman in high school, he knew music was his passion. While others were running around on Jamaica Avenue, VonSeyVerse was in the studio learning the ropes managing several artists. Many others saw his hustle and everyone who took any kind of focus on music would come to him for advice. In the fall of 2002 he received a call about a kid who made beats by the name Pat. Over that year, Pat and VSV formed Pure Genius Productions, and after shopping beats to local artists and a few beat battles PGP created a buzz.

In 2005 he attracted the attention of Don Diva Magazine’s C.E.O Kevin Chiles by making the company $2,000 in Advertising profits by getting commitments for selling over 50 magazines on the day that they met. With his consistent performance and commitment to learning VSV was given the opportunity to support the editors with entertainment stories that lead to many interviews and future advertisements in several issues. This led to VSV’s appointment as Special Features Editor.

That same year by knowing the right people he met the late Stack Bundles. While working with Stack Bundles he provided production to several mix-tapes done by the artist. In and out the studio, early days and long nights of seeing Stack Bundles work rubbed off and inspired VSV to start writing songs.

In the summer of 2006, after graduating form Martin Van Buren High, he met a close friend of the family. In the fall of 2006 he was provided with the opportunity to intern for Richard Harrison’s label Richcraft Records by way of Atlantic Records. After seeing how an actual major label worked VSV decided he was ready to step into the big leagues.

“Back in 2004 I said to myself I’m going to start my own label On Trak Records. I said, the right year to come out as far as marketing wise would be 2005 or 2010. Putting myself in reality’s shoe I said I’m going to make this happen for the year 2010.”
