Vudu

After writing and performing for several months as both an acoustic duo and part of a six-piece band, Lia Gonzalez and Jordan Hathaway were discussing the idea of starting a project of their own, and unbeknownst to the two, dynamic rhythm section Cameron Earle and Shawn Paavola were having a similar conversation. Several successful jams around the city between Shawn, Cameron and Jordan led to the idea of bringing in original music, and in late March of 2014, Lia was invited into a rehearsal room to bring focus to the project. After an astonishing amount of musical work in a very short time, the band put together several demos and spent time in the studio recording a few tunes. The band, by then having established the moniker Vudu, played a demo show that ended up stretching twice as long as planned due to demands from the crowd. Since then, they've been giving performances, both planned and last minute, in venues from DTLA to Venice, Hollywood to Santa Monica.

Vudu is currently mixing sessions for their first EP, recorded at the world-class Grandmaster Recorders, Ltd. in Hollywood, a studio renowned for producing such illustrious albums such as Tool's 10,000 Days, The Foo Fighter's The Colour and the Shape, Rush's Snakes and Ladders, and a slew of other hard-hitting records.
