I’ll put it this way: No album in 2013 came out of literally nowhere quite like The Tower. It’s goddamn more obtuse than trigonometry allows, and fuck math, ya know? The Tower is wild, disconnected therapy for me. It yelps, arms extended, crying out for help, for love. I have so much to give. It wants exhilaration and bewilderment and joy, and I want the same things. It’s language, and I communicate with it. And I get what I want. No idea what I’m saying? Who cares. To each their own. Money is power. This is truth and the theme of VULTURE INDUSTRIES’ twisted new album, “The Tower”. The Norwegians’ new full-length explores dark musical vistas and lyrics within a unique mixture of progressive, experimental, extreme and even foreboding symphonic elements. With a wealth of creativity and the ability to shift gears smoothly in the blink of an eye, VULTURE INDUSTRIES bend, twist, and shape their songs into living entities embodying the width and breadth of human emotion. Comparisons to unique and trail-blazing artists such as FAITH NO MORE, DEVIN TOWNSEND, ENSLAVED and NICK CAVE, only act as starting points to this unique heavy rock band. Vulture Industries, is renowned for their eccentric and manic live shows. After multiple European tours and festivals and two full length albums the band has built a solid following. The band is currently signed to Season of Mist and their 3nd album is due for release this autumn. Once again the album is produced by main man Bjørnar E. Nilsen, while mixing will handled by Herbrand Larsen (Enslaved) and mastered by Jens Bogren in Fascination Street Studios (Opeth, Katatonia, Devin Townsend, Ihsahn, Enslaved).
As the band has received great reviews for their two previous albums, expectations are high. Among others one can mention 6/7 in Metal Hammer (DE), 14/15 in Legacy Magazine (DE), 8,5/10 in Hard Rock Mag (FR), 5/6 in Metallian (FR) and 90/100 in Rock Tribune (BeNeLux).
As a live band, the band is renowned for their technical and tight performance, and they really stick out with the weird antics of vocalist Bjørnar Nilsen. The band has a unique and special sound, which is both very complex and also catchy and to the point. With a highly energetic live show and the manic performance of vocalist Bjørnar Nilsen, this is a band you won't miss out on.
With a live career spanning 9 years and almost 100 shows the band has amongst other things performed in front of a crowd of 5000 fans at Hellfest Open Air (FR) and played great festivals like The Inferno Festival (NO), Metal Camp (SLO), Dong Open Air (DE), Hellraiser Festival (DE), Kilkim Zaibu (LT) and toured Europe on several occasions.
