Now then, those of you who are sharp of mind may well remember us posting the last EP from Vuurwerk. It was great wasn’t it! Well, the kind people behind it have offered up their new EP to us exclusively – and here it is.
It’s completely free, you can download it all HERE - BOILER ROOM
Mysterious Brussels crew Run Tell Secrecy recently dropped its debut LP, ME + ONE (the culmination of the ME, PLUS, and ONE EPs), under the alias Vuurwerk. Taken from that offering, "Bad Habits" exhibits a chilled-out approach to dubstep by spotlighting its slow-rolling bassline while pitch-shifted vocals, syrupy beats, and hazy atmospherics reinforce its dubby outlook. Out on vinyl today, Vuurwerk's ME + ONE album is also available as a name-your-price download over on Dandelion Lotus' Bandcamp.
Average: 8.3 - XLR8R
Vuurwerk are a name that you’re going to be hearing a lot more of in the coming months.
Vuurwerk (Flemish for Fireworks) are three Belgian musicians/producers based in Brussels. Part of the music/film/art/design/party throwing collective Run Tell Secrecy.
Whilst recording their current album with the help of Max Colombie, from hotly tipped fellow Belgian band Oscar & The Wolf, the band started messing around with some accappellas and came across Bon Iver’s ‘Minnesota’.
A few hour laters the band had reworked it into a remix that treads a similar path to this controversial PC music, in that there’s heavily pitched vocals and the arrangement is a bit all over the place, but there’s one crucial difference: their remix is not rubbish.
Anyway Max loved the track so much he offered to make a video for the band and voila; here we are with the premiere of said video. And there’s a free download too. - Harderbloggerfaster
