"Letter of recommendation (music promoter)"

To whom it may concern,

Over the last four years I have had an opportunity to work with, literally, hundreds of bands. Some of them great bands, others not as good and some flat out bad. Aside from a bands musicianship there are a few things I look for in a band that I believe will constitute long term success. One such band is the subject of this letter. Waiting for Wyatt have displayed both the acumen needed to be a quality band but also to handle the business side playing live gigs. When asked to write a recommendation I gladly accepted and have high hopes that you will also have a chance to experience their work ethic and tremendous musicianship. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions.

Regards,

"Letter of recommendation (music critic)"

With over twenty years in the music business, I’ve known quite a few artists. In fact, as the Review Editor at Music Connection Magazine, I‘ve seen almost 600 acts a year for the last ten years. In all that time, Waiting 4 Wyatt is one of the more exceptional bands I’ve had the pleasure to meet. Their talent, professionalism, and business savvy are what initially impressed me. Then, once I got to know them better, I was further impressed with them as people.

Waiting 4 Wyatt is not only a hard working group; they’re also reliable and nice to be around. For whatever reason you may be considering them, I have no hesitation in highly recommending them. Indeed, I wish all acts were as attentive, considerate and cooperative as they are. I’m sure that your experience would be the same, and that working with this act would remind you why we’re in this business.

If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Bernard Baur

"Waiting 4 Wyatt waits no more"

L.A.’s own Waiting 4 Wyatt recently celebrated the release of their new album What Are You Waiting For? at the Key Club on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. Playing for a packed house, the relatively new group delighted fans with a high-energy performance that set the place on fire. The band also received good news that their song, “More Than Myself,” was selected to be featured on MTV’s Meet The Barkers. Waiting 4 Wyatt kicks off The Desert Sun's new music series

The Desert Sun

Lead by two Palm Springs sisters, Waiting 4 Wyatt has local roots and a pop-alternative sound that’s made them popular performers in the LA music scene and the first to be profiled in The Desert Sun's "Crank It Up," music series.

“There’s a lot more heavy music here in the desert, more of a hard-core metal scene,” said lead singer Lucy Levinsohn, the band’s lead singer.

“We’re more alternative pop... we’re rock enough to interest kids and our lyrics are interesting enough to attract adults,” she said.

The band is made up of Levinsohn on lead vocals, her sister Anya Boyer on keyboards and backing vocals, Billy Berman on bass, Jae Wong on percussion and John Ruiz on guitar.

They formed in L.A. after Levinsohn and her younger sister, both graduates of Palm Desert High, moved to Los Angeles.

“I was in theater and danced here and dabbled in music. In L.A. I met a lot of musicians and bands and decided to focus on music,” she said.

The sound
If you’re a fan of bands like Fallout Boy, All American Rejects and 30 Seconds to Mars, chances are you will also like Waiting 4 Wyatt.

The lyrics
As the band’s lyricist, Levinsohn focuses on mainstream subjects like growing up, friendships and love.

Their latest song, “Good Bye Good Times,” is about the realization that growing up means the carefree days of adolescence are behind you and the responsibilities of adulthood are ahead.

The name
The band name was inspired by Levinsohn’s friend who had a relationship with a guy named Wyatt.

“She always talked about this guy and portrayed him as this wonderful amazing fantasy guy who one day would come for her,” she said.

“I told her she would spend her whole life waiting for Wyatt and I thought that would make a great band name.

“We interpret it as not wasting your life waiting for some fantasy to happen, but to make it happen,” she said.

Shows
The band has played in the desert at The Blue Guitar and J. Dee’s Landing.
They won a battle of the bands at the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival in one of their first public appearances in 2005.

In L.A. they have performed at The House of Blues, The Roxy, The Whiskey, Key Club and The Knitting Factory.

Albums
The band will release a four-song EP in October which will be available at their Web site http://www.waiting4wyatt.com/ - Desert Sun

"Waiting 4 Wyatt crashes 4th of July"

Last Sunday members of the local band Waiting 4 Wyatt dropped in on the first meeting for the upcoming Sunland-Tujunga 4th of July Spectacular, which is to be held at Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga. This year's event will be raising money for the school’s booster programs and the planning committee is looking to make it bigger and
better than years past.

Known to their fans simply as W4W, this self described “alternative pop” band has been influenced by groups like Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Eat World, and All American Rejects. Defined by their powerhouse vocals, beautiful harmonies, edgy guitar riffs, and energy packed live performances, the band is made up sisters Lucy Levinsohn (vocals) and Anya
Boyer (keys/vocals), Billy Berman (bass), Jon Ruiz (guitar) and, Jae Wong (drums).
Former residents of Shadow Hills, Lucy and Anya have attended the annual 4th of July event many times and have a personal interest in being a part of the action. “We have enjoyed the Verdugo Hills' fireworks show for so many years and have always wanted to be a part of it. We really want to give a little something back to the community,” said Lucy.

Since the release of their first album, “What Are You Waiting For?”, the group has landed some notable song placements on MTV shows such as Parental Control, Next, Engaged and Underage, and most recently, Cribs.

Currently, W4W is in the studio recording their second album, which is due for release
late this summer. Constantly booking shows and touring, the band can be seen performing in Los Angeles’ most respected venues. In addition, they will be participating in several of the American Cancer Society’s "Relay for Life" events throughout Southern California this year. W4W's next club performance is Friday, May 11th, at the world-famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood. The concert will be all ages and $11 at the door.
From the Foothills to the Hollywood Hills, Waiting 4 Wyatt is proving to be a band worth watching. For full details on Waiting 4 Wyatt, go to www.myspace.com/waiting4wyatt.
