Complex experimental pop music exploring grand human themes such as love, war, peace, spiritual evolution and politics.

Biography

Wade McCollum was born on the road. His father is a drummer and Wade was born into the life of a traveling gypsy band tribe. Wade spent his early childhood years on a mad unconventional adventure traipsing from town to town in a sparkling green 1978 Dodge van, ala Scooby Doo. His parents are intrepid loving souls who encouraged Wade to go to the edge, challenge the status quo and always speak the truth.

Over the past ten years Wade has honed his skills as a professional performer, making his sole living from Theatre, Music, Film and TV. As a solo musician Wade has toured the country performing in listening rooms including THE CUTTING ROOM in New York, TANGIER in Los Angeles and THE CRYSTAL BALLROOM in Portland OR. Wade made a huge splash in the Los Angeles music industry with his performance of Hedwig in the incredible Rock and Roll tale "Hedwig and the Angry Inch". His performance garnered all of the top awards in Los Angeles and in turn he met some very influential music industry professionals who encouraged him to apply his vocal acrobatics to some original material. So Wade spent the next year in LA writing his demo recording "Beauty is a Streetlight" a ten track CD produced in the legendary Kung Fu Bakery, 9 original songs and one Dan Bern cover.

Wade has thousands of fans all over the world and is primed to take the next step. He has a great online presence and has sold thousands of albums independently.

Wade's music is an open letter to the world. His unique perspective and sound come from his unusual upbringing. His honesty and individuality permeate every note on "Beauty Is A Streetlight," whether melodically screaming for the pain of those caught in the horrors of war, or wailing a prayerful love song, his voice conveys his love for humanity and passion for peace. Wade speaks the truth about the gravity of our global situation, yet somehow assures us that we are going to make it through.

Rise

Written By: Wade McCollum

past all future presence gone, all love or hate or right or wrong
we've heard it before, the silent song, a message from unending dawn

so rise like the wave off the ocean of the one

are there questions in your mind, are the answers hard to find, do you feel connected and do we feel combined
or are we just floating euclidian lines

as dry ice is melting clouds into the sky

pondering eternity the pattern of beyond the beyond the beyond the beyond the beyond, beyond the beyond the beyond the beyond, beyond the beyond the beyond
the beyond

lie on your wishing well a new day has begun

umbrellas raining up or down, dreaming of the empty crown
what an opportunity, to be the king and set all free

and I would say rise like the waves off the ocean of the one

lie on your wishing well a new day has begun

burn these blankets of desire, warming the wormwood and warning the morning
fire,
so rise, rise, rise

Once Again

Written By: Wade McCollum

once again:
jiva moksha...

how do i translate these feelings into just these words
how do I explain the paradox of what this is
as all these cliché stars are dancing round my cartoon head
and all I want to ask is how did we arrive at this

where we dream into life once again
where we dream into life once again
when will we remember we're all one

in venice where i met you we were dancing in the night
the skies were golder than the bold you left me in your flight
so we'll parade in masks of demons clad with angels breath
and all the demons that i've met are angels facing death

to be born into life once again
to be born into life once again
when will remember

love yourself in scrutiny cause judgment will be felt
when you lay it all out on the line, it's all out, on the line of time

to be born into life once again
to be born into life once again
to be born into life, to be born into life
yes we're born into life, yes we're born into life, life, once again

Marrow

Written By: Wade McCollum, Noah Jordan

desert flowers bloom despite it all, destiny calls them realize
i am a desert rose,
you are my destined prize

you are the honey in the rock,
you are the marrow of my bones
you are my silent call,
with you i bloom despite it all

free falling in this freedom we have found
free falling up to heaven on ground so sound

there was a desert in my mouth,
you came along there was a storm
a thousand flowers torn into a song, a song of love that sings a constant dawn

you are the honey in the rock,
you are the marrow of my bones
you are my silent call,
with you I bloom despite it all

free falling in this freedom we have found
free falling up to heaven on ground so sound
