Bio

What burns within Wado’s blood, who nowadays lives in the Alagoas’ endless summer, is the world fringes’ new way of making music. Taking 'rude art' into homestudios, with cheap microphones and with no technical knowlegde. But with the most energy, urgency and power as
possible.

The subversion is not on the punk estethics - tame and sugared into love songs. The voices are: the latin rhythms such as Rio de janeiro’s funk, samba, reaggaeton and bahia regio rhythms like afoxé. And Wado took all these kinds of music to create the estethics of his show.

Wado has been, in only a ten-year carrier and 6 albums, in the line-up of the most importante brazilian festivals such as Abril Pro Rock, Coquetel Molotov, Se Rasgum, Goiânia Noise, Tim Festival, Humaitá Pra Peixe.

In recognition of his talent and work, Wado was awarded twice by Pixinguinha Project (Funarte, Brazil´s Culture Ministery) being invited to represent Brazil in the event "The Year of Brazil in France", the first show of the artist in Paris, France.

One year later, in 2006, being invited to represent the Brazilian music once more, Wado goes to the city of Berlim, Germany, to join in the project Culture Cup/Music from Brazil. Once there, he presents his show during the International Music Fair, Popkomm. At this time, the
Brazilian composer is already introduced to the european music market throught two CD compilations: Brazil Luaka Bop and Tip Popkomm magazine, with 80 thousand copies. In 2012 Wado come back to Europe to a concert in Nuremberg.

Wado´s 2009 album (Atlantico Negro) ranked 9th place (Rolling Stone Brazil magazine). Seventy journalists and brazilian music criticists elected wado as one of the 10 best and more expressive brazilian artist of the first 21th century's decade.

His recent album, Samba 808 (2011, indie), can be translated to some introspective sambas mixed with the TR-808 sound - this is a low-fi 8-bit drum machine that produces extremely low-frequency sounds. The
album is full with brazilian featured artists: Zeca baleiro, Chico César, Curumin, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, André Abujamra and others. This album is present in the main list of criticists and journalists among the 10 best brazilian albums released in 2011. One of his songs, "Com a Ponta dos Dedos" (With your Fingertips) was elected the 4th best song of 2011 by Rolling Stone Brazil magazine.
