Bio

Busy sidewalks, waves of beautiful people, commercialism, and crowded streets are the images that come to mind when picturing a college town and state capital like Tallahassee, Florida. Beneath this facade projected from these different outlets lie unique individuals that strive to express themselves through their outlets, such as their instruments.

Singer/guitarist Drew Dockerill, bassist AJ Larson, lead guitarist Rafael Britto, and drummer Derek Hall have come together to create music they feel passionate about and hope that others enjoy as well. Hailing from Tallahassee is Wait For Green. Formed in the Fall of 2006 at Florida State University, WFG has been playing shows and writing music since day one without stopping. The name Wait for Green refers to the fact that everyone is waiting for certain freedoms in their lives, whether it be a job promotion, or the chance to travel around the world and play music. The name was derived from a personal experience Drew encountered earlier in his life and the members agreed that the message lying in Wait for Green was much more meaningful than any name they had thought of.

With their recent release of their first full length LP, “All In”, Wait For Green has been working relentlessy doing they can to spread their music. The LP was written, recorded, and released all within one year of the bands formation. The CD has an underlying theme dealing with the fact that they must make a choice between the 9 to 5, or to go “All In” and risk everything to do what they love the most. The music of Wait for Green can be easily distinguished from any other band by the positive vibes, tight rhythm, funk jams, alternative-rock sound, and the flowing lyrics.

In only a year they have opened up for bands such as Fiction Plane, Authority Zero, The Expendables, Rehab, The Parliament Funkadelic, and The Supervillains. In the spring of 2007, the band won the MEISA (Music Entertainment Industry Student Association) Battle of the Bands which has landed them in this year’s national competition.
