"Waiting For Go ????"

I hadn’t heard much from this 5 piece Glaswegian band but I was nothing short of impressed with their 30 minute set this week.

Full of energy and enthusiasm, the band performed many of their original songs including “Stay” and “On the Dancefloor” which many of the crowd, filled with their friends and family, already knew all the words to. This created a great atmosphere throughout the room and the crowd were buzzing.

Great guitar skills could be seen from 1 of 3 guitarists within the band Jack McDade and the very enthusiastic lead singer, Jordan Butler, even carried out an amateur crowd surf.
This band are clearly very passionate about their music and I really hope to hear more from them in the future.
Go check them out! - Gig'd Oot Ma Nut

"Little Eye + Supporting Acts ????"

The first act on stage were a 4 piece indie/rock band named “The Alter-Natives”. Their 30 minute set consisted of many original songs including their newest single ” Mistakes Don’t Understate” which proved to be a great hit with the crowd, helped by the catchy, relatable lyrics. A good cover of “My Hero” by the Foo Fighters was also performed during the set which enabled many of the crowd to sing along, creating a good atmosphere within the room. With this being one of the bands first gigs, it was evident that they lacked confidence on the night however with a bit more experience, I’m certain they will improve greatly.

Next up was a 5 piece Indie/Rock Glaswegian band named “Waiting For Go”. Having previously seen them perform in December ( read the review here ) , I was eager to see if the band would maintain their great enthusiasm that was evident in their last performance. And I was nothing short of impressed. The band appeared on stage to open their 30 minute set with original songs such as “Conflicted Hearts” and “Stay”. These were clearly a huge crowd pleaser with so many people singing and dancing along to every song. A great atmosphere was present throughout the room, as the band performed further songs including ” What’s It Gonna Be”, “Believe Me” and the ever popular, “On The DanceFloor”. Chants of “Here we f*cking go” were screamed aloud by the crowd before the band introduced their newest single “Let Go” which will be released in March. Sadly there was no crowd surfing this time around, however lead singer, Jordan Butler did wow the crowds by performing the end of the set whilst standing on top on the barrier. The bands passion for music and clear love for performing was evident throughout the set last night, I would have liked to have heard a cover song performed however it was an overall great performance, and they successfully got the crowd hyped for the main act.

Finally, Little Eye were on stage to perform a 60 minute set at the sell out gig. Having previously been voted “Winners of the “Clyde 1 In Demand Band Of The Year” and “Young Scot Best Unsigned Band”, There has been a lot of hyped surrounding them recently and last nights gig made it evident as to why. The 4 piece scottish band performed a series of original songs including “Can’t Relax” and “Remember Yesterday.” This band have a really great stage presence and created a great atmosphere throughout their performance. And with an album due out in the summer, we can only expect greater things to come from this band in the future.

An overall great gig and I’d really advise everyone to go check them all out ! - Gig'd Oot Ma Nut

Bio

Formed in Glasgow in August 2010, Waiting For Go quickly progressed from small local gigs to much bigger things: headliners at The 02 ABC and the Classic Grand. All of which occurred in a matter of months. In May 2011 they took a huge step in winning the Glasgow Battle of the Bands.

Round about the same time Waiting For Go's demos were picked up by Acclaimed Producers Michael Bannister and Ross Hamilton (Previously working with the likes of Texas, Dirty Pretty Things, Avril Lavigne, The View, Franz Ferdinand, Wheatus, Newton Faulkner and Snow Patrol, to name a few) who have since been working with the band on singles 'On the Dancefloor' and 'Let You Go' to be released in Spring 2012.

The rest of 2011 saw the boys take there music to Dennycassim festival, Keele University Student's Union and a string of sold out support slots with bands such as Miniature Dinosaurs at Stereo, The Imagineers at Oran Mor and most Recently King Tuts with Little Eye.

2012 is set to be a very exciting year for Waiting For Go, all kicking off with the release of their debut single 'Let You Go' in Spring, watch this space !
