Bio
Created from eager hearts and sometimes tragically creative minds, Waiting for Isaac was born a 5 piece collage of friends that shared a common motivation to create music that made you love to listen and enlisted a positive drive on its listeners.
Since forming the 2002, Waiting for Isaac, made up by Blake Buchanan/ vocals, Cody Keys/ drums and vocals, guitarists Estevan Garcia and Lane Kelley, and bassist Jesse Gresham, has been making a name for themselves with the independent release of their "Love is Timeless EP" and newly released album "Losing Daylight." Their new album gives you a sense of their truly progressive-alternative rock sound felt by their ear catchin guitar riffs and charismatic solos. The melody driven vocals and rising choruses give you proof of their atmospheric texture and the incredibly wide range of influences that help mold them. Lyrically the music is laid out by stories and feelings about their Christian faith and what a group so willing to share it can convey.
Through an energetic and driving live show the Band is able to cature the interest of many fans and also earn the respect of many people in radio and music. In 2004 WFI was privileged to take part in the Shoutfest talent competition put on by the Jeff Roberts Booking Agency. By winning the State Competition, they won the chance to share the stage with Artists such as Tait, Petra, and Rachel Lampa. Also in January 2005, WFI took part in a showcase put on by the following labels (Epic, Atlantic, and Columbia Records) at the Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans, scoring good marks with fans, onlookers, and labels. They also played in Nashville at GMA during Gospel Music Week, and won a showcase for Band With A Mission at Rocket Town in Nashville, as well.
Waiting for Isaac, while keeping true to their commitment to share their faith through the music they create, are showing versatility in writing songs that strike the mind to think and blurring the line in which alternative rock fans have come to expect.
