" .... Waitin on a Train plays acoustic Appalachian folk-and-bluegrass-inspired music with a modern rock-and-punk-influenced rhythm and vocal delivery. Their debut album, 2006's In the Path of Pain, featured entirely original material, though they play with an assured mastery of the idioms they're modernizing" - All Music Guide

While the acoustic lineup consists only of mandolin, stand-up bass and guitar, their volume can reach commanding levels that inspire the most intractable audiences. Most performances reach a fevered pitch filled with emotion and vigor.
“I love it. It's loud. It means something and they're feeling it when they're playing it...I just can't get enough of that!” - Wichita Rutherford, the Sirius/XM Radio DJ personality describing Waitin On A Train.
The trio has performed across the mid-atlantic region from WV to Upstate New York, since 2005 and has shared stages with a number of national and international performers. The group has recorded and self-produced 3 cds and a 7” vinyl and is currently working on a 4th album.
