"In the Path of Pain"

" .... Waitin on a Train plays acoustic Appalachian folk-and-bluegrass-inspired music with a modern rock-and-punk-influenced rhythm and vocal delivery. Their debut album, 2006's In the Path of Pain, featured entirely original material, though they play with an assured mastery of the idioms they're modernizing" - All Music Guide

Waitin On A Train - 2009

Since 2005, Waitin On A Train has shared stages with a number of national and international performers, recently opening for David Bromberg, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, and playing with The York Symphony Orchestra, at The 4th July fireworks concert at the York (PA) Fairgrounds. In the folk and bluegrass vein Waitin' On A Train was closing act at Susquehanna Folk Society's 'Summerfest' in 2010, has played two slots Bethlehem PA's Musikfest in 2012, Smoked Country Jam, as well as a host of festivals and venues in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

While the acoustic lineup consists only of mandolin, stand-up bass and guitar, their volume can reach commanding levels that inspire the most intractable audiences. Most performances reach a fevered pitch filled with emotion and vigor.

“I love it. It's loud. It means something and they're feeling it when they're playing it...I just can't get enough of that!” - Wichita Rutherford, the Sirius/XM Radio DJ personality describing Waitin On A Train.

The trio has performed across the mid-atlantic region from WV to Upstate New York, since 2005 and has shared stages with a number of national and international performers. The group has recorded and self-produced 3 cds and a 7” vinyl and is currently working on a 4th album.
