Bio

Waking From Oblivion is a progressive metal band from LĂ©vis QC, Canada, composed of Davide, Kaps, Sam, Le Roi and Paco.

Its creation goes back to the end of winter of 2008, when Davide (vocals) and Paco (drums) were interested in forming a band together but had no experience at all in composing music. They later met Kaps (guitar) who had had a few teenage bands, which was quite impressive to them, and so they decided to start jamming together. After a lot of second guitarists and bassists line-up change, they finally found another ballsy guitarist who wanted to make music for a living: David Royer (LeRoi).

Without a real bassist(one of their friends -Jonathan Paradis- learned their songs), they went in a rockshop basement to record 2 demos (We Called Him Georgie. and Crisis). They started to do more gigs and in time they became more experimented: They began composing material for a possible full album. Through fans and other bands, they learnt of the existence of Antoine Baril, an epic producer also capable of recording songs for starting band like them. Together (in June 2011), they decided to start working on a full lenght LP called Blur Mine. It was finally released in March 2012.

A couple of months later, Sam, a solitary bassist from QC city, contacted them and became a part of the band. Together they composed and recorded Moonfall, the first post-Blur-Mine single of Waking From Oblivion.
