Wallaki

Wallaki

BandWorldSinger/Songwriter

Can lick a guitar with the ease of Neil Young, croon with the conviction and charater of voice as Elvis/Jack Johnson
will boost the vibe like Michael Franti
But this is Wallaki, a musician for the world, lives in the Mentawais islands of Indonesia, but he's back intown, guitar in hand..

Biography

Hitting the road and experiencing life through travel and expressing his art and spirituality through music, Wallaki has walked a different path to most musician's. He is a native through out villages and surfing destinations in Indonesia not just speaking fluently but singing in the native tongues of bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Sunda(west Java), Balinese and the native language of the mentawais. Not yet a part of the music industry's modern day movement, he takes his catchy sweet driving acoustic melodies on the road and to the people. Having just turned 26 and putting together his first 13 song studio album back home in Margaret River (he has had many acoustic bootleg copies floating in underground circles for some years now) he thought it would be a good time to show his face back in the cities of Australia and remind his peers just how free and fulfilling a musician's life can be & what is possible when you are blessed with the gift of music.

Wallaki is quietly a prophet of the Michael Franti school Releasing inhabitions and bringing joy to those around him by the groove and truth in his song.. The life force of music hath no boundaries.

The Rollin' John

Written By: Wallaki

There's a feeling that I've known, Sure as the new day grows
bright as the lightning roll, watch her as she goes
& if I had the time I would find the one & if I had clean eyes they could see the sun
Just to save the world I would play my song
I'd save it for the man they call the Rollin' John, The Rollin John

There's a feeling that he gave & if you felt it you would know
that you'd become a slave to the movement of that magic place
as you hips begin to sway tell me that you feel the same
tho' the present may be haze the light is more than lonely days
I told my friends don't wake up stunned, the Rollin John, Here it comes..

It comes and goes and goes and rolls I told my friends not to go slow
don't wake up stunned coz here it comes once again the Rollin John here it comes..

The brave had come to play, hours in to days watching in amaze the light shine to create..
Longed to see the man, waited for the sun, well as the light drew near, gave birth the Rollin' John, The Rollin' john..

It comes & goes & goes & rolls I told my friends not to go slow
don't wake up stunned coz here it comes once again the Rollin John
well hold on old John..

The Lightning Song

I've got Mona Lisa's baby you've got pictures too
you've got snap shots in those eyes forever holding true
well all day long I could close my eyes just to hold the thought of you
but I count to ten and I'm open then to the styles you're wearing new

Coz you never know who you're gonna meet when you're dancing to the rhythm when you're groovin to the beat, it's just a feeling that's running through your feet when your dancing to the rhythm when you're groovin to the beat come on now Yeah!

Moving north but heading east how this feeling comes along
with thoughts of how old shackled truths could never fill my songs
but they do as I do always ring true waiting feels so wrong
when the lightning strikes twice after feels nice guess I had it all along..

Coz you never know who your gonna meet when your dancing to the rhythm when you're groovin to the beat, it's just a feeling that's running through your feet when you're dancing to the rhythm when you're groovin to the beat come on now yeah sweet baby dance with me and I'll hold you too, swimmin' sunsets moonlight collects all my thoughts of you, so I do as you do always ring true play your favourite song, then the lightning strikes twice after feels nice guess we had it all along yeah we had it all along yeah!

Movement is what is needed ever since I was a boy I've begged and pleaded to keep evolving to keep extending to keep the truth and stop pretending, spin the compass any direction will be fine to meet some human unkind some can see but some dead blind Coz you never know who you're gonna meet when you're dancing down the street any day of the week..

You never know who you're gonna meet when you're dancing to the rhythm when you're groovin to the beat, it's just a feeling that's running through your feet when you're dancing to the rhythm, when you are groovin to the beat!

The Wallaki Tune

Written By: Wallaki

There's healing in waves just like the feeling he gave
If there's momentum in place everyone gets a taste of this time..

Wallaki tunes are like electric balls hittin' if you're missing picking you up if you fall
got a G-land poster hangin' up against my wall that's my brother in the photo like the way he's standing tall, got a pretty little momma gonna make her proud singing for the people and the lovin' on the mountain side teaching me to ride runnin like the Jones from Indianna whippin hide
Got a life long purpose if we think we're gonna fall gotaa pick it up and etcha sketch it then we're standing tall gotaa respect babies mommas grand papas and all and we're learning from the best if you wanna take it all..

There's healing in waves just like the feeling he gave if there's momentum in place everyone gets a taste of this time

Well it was just the other day I was late getting paid it's just the same old story when your lifting rock your just a slave but I didn't let it get me down, no I hate the way that feels and I love to look around & see the birds that are flying and uncovering the past looking it's easy to see n that this time is gonna last you uncover the seed and then you split it in half why don't you just cover it up and watch it grow and laugh down the ever winding path, your numbers are adding up so come on do the math, hit em up drag em down a knocks a boost if he's a clown you know he's gotta be the way he drags his heals around this town..

There's healing in waves just like the feeling he gave if there's momentum in place everyone gets a taste of these times crimes mimes sublime rhymes hitting high fives lickin' beehives flippin' on the B side crawlin up a tree high feelin' like he just might fly...

I'm Wallaki travelling with the flow where we stop nobody knows all the wondering up in your head are you ready now to let it go? Electric hell Kuta rock city a million reasons to keep yourself pretty back to back ease a santai sleep we're running now we've got time to keep free wheelin' sunshine stealin' spirit free and now we're believing in all the things that took their time, you took a while now I'll take mine..

Oh Baby baby there's a bali flow you know it hits me hard takes me down below, it only entails mystery then its spittin till you're lickin all the colours of the sea, I know you may not understand but it teaches me the livin' and the lovin' of a man, it's a dictionary of the soul and we're flickin' through the pages as we go..

Well not so long ago I left my home all on my own, started wondering up in my head I was ready then to let it go, be open to the difference oh the islands took my heart and soul, back to back ease a santai sleep we were running then we've still got time to keep free wheelin' sunshine stealin' spirit free and now we're believing in all the things that took their time, you took a while now I'll take mine...

Oh Baby baby there's a bali flow you know it hits me hard takes me down below, it only enatails mystery then it's spittin' till your lickin' all the colours of the sea, I know you may not understand but it teaches me the livin' and the lovin of a man, it's a dictionary of the soul and we're flickin through the pages as we go...

Well kalau begitu peraasaan mu yang tak pernah ingin lupakan ku aku yang selalu ada di samping mu..
malam ini detik ini aku berjanji kau takkan sendiri.. dan itu pasti..

Too few

Written By: Wallaki

A little too late for the sun to rise tonight so tomorrow perhaps we'll see
with all the doubt and the people like to shout then we'll know just how pleasant it could be
well you may go but the sun will toast my back and the sea salt will trickle down the shore
met someone new you could toss amongst the few probably show me something never seen before

There are too few people who know about the day drifting away
there's not so few places to go to get away when it's late in the day

well close your eyes there'll be no surprise when you open you will see that times have changed
it smells like something that momma's cooked today take a bight and all your worries roll away
self raising flour mixed with yeast and all the power stir the pot and watch the people sing along
the wind may blow let it take you away to a place where you know we all belong..

There are too few people who know about the day drifting away
there's not so few places to go to get away when it's late in the day..
