About 20 years ago, five very different individual musicians, with diverse musical backgrounds came together in San Antonio, Texas to create a unique original Southern Rock sound with a bit of Blues, a bit of Soul, a bit of Rock and Roll and a splash of Country.

Wall of Soul consists of a Drummer, Fred Mahalczack, a Bass Player, David Cisneros, Two dueling Rythm and Solo Guitarists, Mark Lara and Allan Linkous and a Vocalist Singer/Songwriter who has never been "The Girl Next Door", Monica Solis.

When Wall of Soul joined forces and began writing Music together, we never asked the question "What style of music" should we play?" Instead we started composing simply what came out naturally. To put Wall of Soul into a single category is difficult. I personally like to describe our original sound as "SHWAG ROCK." (Southern Harmonies with Aggressive Guitars) And the Vocals, NOT LIKE ANYTHING IN THE MUSICAL RELM. To sum it up, Wall of Soul is a combination of The Black Crows, Aretha Franklin, Alice in Chains, Lynard Skynard and Sound Garden, Aerosmith and Heart. Just take a listen and you will understand completely when you hear it.

Our bond as a group makes us family. Music is our passion and the driving force that pushes us to continually engage the creative process to craft songs that move us. The lyrics are written from life and are deeply personal yet relatable to many. It is the truth; original, authentic, fresh, and impossible not to grab you by the heart strings. Please take a listen and decide for your self.

So as we continue on this mission of sharing our music and gaining more exposure, it is our hope that along this journey our paths might somehow cross and together we will all have been made the better as a result.
