Biography

Wanderfoot is blessed with three prolific songwriters, and was formed around the idea of creating soulful, original, modern roots music. We create music from the world around us, telling stories of the struggles we see, and reflect through song those deep universal experiences that we all share. All of that creates an eclectic sound that combines rock, folk, reggae, blues, and many others. Each story dictates the sound, and we try not to get in the way.

Lyrics

California

Written By: Michael B. Strivelli

I can't dream in Southern California,
All my dreams are all here right in front of me
I can't Leave Southern California,
Southern California has a hold on me

In the daylight, I can see you spinning
and in the night, the night, the night, the night I hear you singing
In the daylight, I can see you spinning
and in the night, the night, the night, the night

I can't breathe in Southern California,
Hills on fire and blood red skies
You can't say I didn't try to warn ya,
My mind swims in Absinthe seas

In the daylight, I can see you spinning
and in the night, the night, the night, the night I hear you singing
In the daylight, I can see you spinning
and in the night, the night, the night, the night

With my friends in Southern California,
love and laughter fill the air
All night long we fly above the mountains,
and come right down to meet the sea

In the daylight, I can see you spinning
and in the night, the night, the night, the night I hear you singing
In the daylight, I can see you spinning
and in the night, the night, the night, the night

Back to the Woods

Written By: Michael B. Strivelli

Back to the woods - MBS/TM
Got plenty of sunshine, baby, in the heat of the day
Got plenty of moonshine, baby , when the sun is away
There's light all around in the evenin', but I don't know why
The only light I need, Baby, Comes from up in the sky
So take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
yeah take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Just take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Back to the woods, Back to the woods
The water's flowin', baby, but it's all underground
and there ain't no rivers running, and no life all around
The trees are strugglin', baby, just starvin' for rain
The pavement's chokin', baby and causing them pain
So take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
yeah take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Just take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Back to the woods, Back to the woods
There's birds are singin', baby, so strong and proud
But the sound on the streets here, baby, just won't allow
They're pushin' the creatures, baby, on out past the line
They'll kill every acre, baby, just give them some time
So take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
yeah take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Just take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Back to the woods, Back to the woods
I lost my connection, baby, no peace I have found
with so many layers, baby, between my feet and the ground
The things that we're building, baby, have no real worth
The only things we need, baby, come up from the earth
So take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
yeah take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Just take me back to the woods
(Back to the woods)
Back to the woods, Back to the woods

Punchin' Time

Written By: Michael B. Strivelli

I've been punchin' time for 40 years now
I's a losing fight, but I had to try for something
They've taken more than they can ever give
And now I don't have too much left for my family
If my hands don't fail before I'm done
I'll not become my poor family's burden
And if my legs dont fail me before too long
I'll walk myself on down to the graveyard
Got too much pride to beg
Got too much to lose to steal
Got too much debt to borrow
Got to fight for my next meal
I wish I had something to leave my kids
besides a mound of debt and the memory of my face
I felt in my heart that I worked for them
but now I know what they needed was a father
Got too much pride to beg
Got too much to lose to steal
Got too much debt to borrow
Got to fight for my next meal
I haven't seen the sun in many years
Its dawn to dusk I work each day
They've whittled me from the oak that I was
and now I'm just some kindling for the fires
Got too much pride to beg
Got too much to lose to steal
Got too much debt to borrow
Got to fight for my next meal
