Bio

What better way to begin the new millennium than to start a band? Forming in 2000, Warm Gun did exactly that and have been growing together ever since. Warm Gun thought to expand their career in music after winning first place in a talent show. Once the realization occurred that they could do much more with music, opportunities abounded. In May 2008, they opened for Highway 61 Revisited, a Bob Dylan cover band fronted by The Strokes’ Joel Gilbert at New York City’s Club Midway. That summer, Warm Gun moved down to Nashville in order to truly make a career out of music. The band recorded a 6 song EP and played bars and clubs (such as the Music City Bar & Grill) throughout the Nashville area. They also had the pleasure of playing prominent Virginia venues such as Jaxx, Smokey Joe’s and Jimmy’s Old Town Tavern, drawing an average crowd of at least one hundred or more. The faithfully expanding following has been known to travel even four hundred miles just to see Warm Gun perform.

The reason for the dedicated fans? The amazing cohesiveness of Warm Gun not just musically, but also as supreme friends is astounding. Drummer “Constantine” and bassist “Mista Fingaz” create the incomparable backbone and rhythm section of the band while guitarist McCue is right on cue with his poppy to face-melting riffs. M.J.’s uniquely Morrisson-esque vocals complete the sound. They combine influences such as Foo Fighters, Zeppelin and Skynard (just to name a few) with their own interestingly influential vibe. Their positive energy blends with the creative, melodic rock, catchy hooks and powerful lyrics to form a synergy that is unmatched by most bands of today.

With all the issues in the world today, Warm Gun is also in tune with helping raise money for charities and benefits. In June 2007, they played a charity concert to raise awareness for the popular ONE campaign, led by U2’s Bono and supported by Bill Gates with the goal of eliminating extreme poverty. In April 2008 and again in February 2009, they performed at a benefit on behalf of the Duquesne Chapter of Amnesty International, a non-profit organization at the Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, to raise awareness of the Darfur genocide in Africa. Warm Gun succeeded in raising over $1500 while rocking to a 300+ crowd of pumped up activists. They have also recently been offered a spot on the upcoming Rock 4 Life compilation produced by Quickstar Productions LLC benefiting research toward a cure for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, a severe liver disease that can only be resolved by transplant.

The band was recognized in May 2008 as a “Featured New Artist” on mybandsmusic.com (mybandsmusic.com/members/656). In recent months, the guys have hit the road, playing packed houses in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, New York City, Hartford, Washington D.C., and Nashville. Warm Gun is on their way to even greater heights, so experience this unified rock band for yourself and find out why “Virginia [really] is for lovers!”
