When asked how he got his moniker, rising reggae artiste, Warria Trumpet declared soberly, “Well, the sound of the trumpet is the same the sound of I and I.”

Elaborating, he noted that the trumpet is the most powerful instrument in the Bible, noting that the sound of the trumpet was usually an intense call to action. To make a parallel with his own voice, Warria Trumpet says he wants his songs to have a similar effect on generations of people. According to the singer/song-writer, who was recently signed to Multi Lynk ent/Multi Nation Recordz, he has a story to tell and music is the medium.

“I want people all over the world to listen to the lyrics of the songs that I am writing and feel the impact, heed the message and be inspired to do positive things,” the ‘hortical’ Rastafarian who hails from St Andrew, Jamaica, but who now resides in Florida, USA, stated.

Expressing confidence in his management team, Warria Trumpet revealed that the first songs off the label include Seen you Before and "She Likes It", which, interestingly, are original “girls tunes”, the latter being a soca-flavoured single. The artiste pointed out, however, that the idea is to use these songs to “get the ears of the people”, while showing his immense versatility as an artiste who refuses to be boxed into any single genre.

“Reggae as a genre is a ‘flavaful’ mixture,” Warria Trumpet pointed out, adding, “if you listen to Seen you Before, you will realize that it is a lovers rock tune that is paying respect to the ladies.” He noted that there are several cultural/reality songs in the mix, ready to be unleashed by Multi Lynk/multi nation Recordz in 2013. Among them is the riveting Pain And Poverty, a single which explores and rebukes this twin evil.

Warria Trumpet, while still holding down a 9 – 5, is making plans to visit Jamaica in the next couple of month and complete the video shoot for two of his singles. “Yaad is where it all starts so we have to come to the fountain,” he declares, pointing out that when he left Jamaica his focus wasn’t on the music.

The singer recalls that it was while attending Mannings Hill Secondary School that he migrated to New York with his father and later attended Mt. Vernon High. There, he found his voice and soon began to sing and chant in the school courtyard. With the confidence and exposure that he gained, Warria Trumpet started to deejay in nightclubs while receiving encouragement from people around town to push his music. After many underground recordings, shows and concerts, Trumpet decided that his path could not continue without professional involvement to guide his career.

Trumpet soon moved to Orlando, Florida where he started to record in major studios and linked up with veterans in the business. He eventually found himself as an opening act for international artistes, such as, Barrington Levy, Capelton, Everton Blender, Sanchez, Damian Marley and many more. He has blessed ITunes, Clear Channel, Infinity, Cox and local radio stations with tracks such as Take You There, Baby Girl, Life On The Line and Innocent,
