"Bells Rings in Metalhead Mania"

Stumble out of the mosh pit after Warthane just blew your eyeballs through their sockets with My Nightmare and you'll frantically nurse your bleeding eardrums back to health - just so you can go back for more. "But, hey, it's not just metal bands that play here," Glen laughs. "We have bands that do Seventies and Eighties music all the time during the week." - Sunday Times Newspaper

"Season Wither 3 Festival"

"I think this has to be one of the hardest working bands in the industry. There is hardly a festival that Warthane does not perform at. I walked in and they were already on stage, and the first thing I noticed is how lively this Progressive thrash metal band is. Each member giving their appreciative audience their best performance. Their music is intense yet melodic. A very unique sound that cannot be described. If you have not yet had the pleasure of seeing Warthane, be sure to catch their next performance. The guitar leads take you to a different planet and Gavin’s drumming makes your heart beat in time to the music. This band has to be heard and the music felt to appreciate their intensity! Cya at their next gig!” - Cindy - strum.co.za

"Your music completely gets me excited. The changes with the time progressions and the overall thrash elements are very unique. You do something many of these new bands don't do and that is "keep to the code!" You know exactly what I'm talking about and that is creating music that is your OWN from your hearts and souls but is inspired by so many other sounds. I wish I were head of Nuclear Blast because I'd sign you in a heart beat and you'd be playing "Metal Camp" and a hell of a lot more. Keep up the great work!!! Music, logo, art, photographs, bio and all. " - Caroline - Owner and photographer

Bio

Warthane formed in 2004 by current guitarist and vocalist Sean Gows.

The band as it was at the time consisted of Matt Gradwell on bass, Megan Grand on keyboards, Dion Gouws on drums. A album(demo) was recorded in September 2006 titled “Black Wings of Sorrow”, Soon after Warthane is managed by Grim Music South Africa. Due to musical differences and arising issues Sean Gows parted ways with members.

With a new solid line up consisting of Sean Gouws along with three new additions: Nazar Berezovsky on lead guitar, Gavin Hockly on drums and Dieter Engel on bass, after extensive live shows Warthane entered Gunston Records in October 2007 to record their new 4 track E.P titled “Day 13”.

With the completion of the line up the band is sailing with great feedback from radio waves , word by mouth and rapid growing fan base! Warthane enters Gunston Records to record a 12 track album and release the record in November 2008 titled “The Gallows Are Calling” including bonus tracks and DVD. Currently up to date Warthane has recorded, art works and released their albums independently with the huge support of Grim Music S.A.

Warthane thrive on excellence and continuously strive to better themselves, their music and their live performances, and are having a hell of a lot of fun doing it. One of South Africa's hardest gigging metal bands, Warthane have gigged extensively throughout South Africa since 2006 playing metal and non metal festivals and will continue to do so.

Warthane is back in studio to record their second full length album at B# a top South African recording studio and is organizing to blast Europe in August 2009!
