Sherene “Wassy” Haughton was born on February 18th 1976.

Born to Marva Bell & Gladston Haughton, Wassy grew up in a full household which included 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She went to Jonathan Grant High School and being the eldest girl she realized from an early age that she had to show some responsibility.

Wassy always loved singing and at the age of 7 she started to participate in church her choir. She left High School in 1994 she started her own business, a cloth store in Spanish Town. She still had the love for music burning inside and she entered a singing competition in 1997 at Winters Park and won first place.

She then started travelling to and working in Grand Cayman and her love for music always took her to the night spots. She started singing at karaoke concerts where she gained an almost immediate fame. She won first place in 3 different Karaoke Competitions including the all Islands Finals of that same year and as a result she started receiving various offers to be a part of bands in Grand Cayman but never pursued them as she knew that she wanted to be a solo act.

In 2008 Wassy got a big break when she won yet another sing off contest for a place as an opening act on a show headlined by the Legendary Beres Hammond in Grand Cayman. She beat out some of Cayman’s finest for first place and was rewarded with an appearance on the biggest show Cayman had seen for some time.

The stage was then set and that same year she was an opening act for the Cayman Jazz Festival which featured the likes of Michael Bolton, Angie Stone and several other internationally acclaimed artistes. She then became a regular fixture on almost every major show staged on the island.

In 2009 she was featured on a tribute to a slain radio disc jock in Grand Cayman which introduced her to the radio audience with its regular rotation on all major radio stations on the island.

Wassy is now ready to share her vibe with the rest of the world, but "It's not just about singing lyrics and show appearances” she says. "My goal is to deliver a positive message and let people know they're not the only one going through tough times or unfortunate circumstances.... I'm here to deliver a message and I think the impression that you make is very important. I don't wanna do records just for singing sake. I wanna have a message to everything that I sing”

Wassy draws inspiration form artistes such as Tanya Stephens, Whitney Houston & Etana and hopes to share the stage with them one day.

The quality of her music and her warm and blesses talent, can be considered as one of Jamaica's next top female artist, and Love Signal Music Production Label First Lady..
