The best kept secret in music
Press
I met Watch City when we went on a joint tour a
few years ago. Once I saw their energetic live show,
I was instantly hooked. Their sound is classic, but
relevant in the modern scene. They're easily one
of my favorite groups of the newer generation of
Hip Hop. - Mic One
Watch City is one of the most consistent HipHop
crews out of the Midwest, from throwing shows to
making music to creating a scene in Elgin. - Pugs Atomz- WHPK Chicago
Watch City is a movement. This is what indie music
is all about. No spam. No gimmicks. Just hard work
and good music. - Brian “B Vax” Vaxter- Quennect 4 Radio

Still working on that hot first release.

Bio
Watch City is an independent hip-hop collective out of Chicago, made up of members Aaron Kasz, Angrous Jeffries, Andrew Moore, Dave Stone, Gary Phakosay, Joel Feliciano, and Kyle Cole. Formed in 2010, the group chose the name Watch City to represent their hometown's claim to fame. Watch City blends modern hip hop and rap tracks with the influences of jazz, funk, soul, 90's R&B, and trap music, creating a nostalgic but undeniably fresh sound.
Since their first release, It's Only A Mixtape, in 2011, Watch City have used the last 3 years to become experienced performers, with the following:
- Performances with Twista, Talib Kweli, Slick Rick, and Masta Killa (Wu Tang Clan).
- Festival appearances in SXSW 2013 and 2014, GuerillaFest 2013, and SLUM Fest 2012.
- Tours with GLC, Jeru Tha Damaja and Mic One.
- Spots on WHPK Chicago (88.5 FM), UIC Radio, Depaul Radio, Chicago State University Radio, and Quennect 4 Radio.
- Tour dates 8 different states (TX, AZ, MO, IA, WI, MI, KY, IL)
- 15,500 views and 125 subscribers on their YouTube page
- 1,100 likes on Facebook
Watch City are planning an LP release in August 2015, as well as a 2015 summer tour.
