Bio

Originally born as the illegitimate brain child of Jon Baade and James Kuehl, Water Street Bridge was an attempt to turn Celtic music upside down and shake it around a bit. Their first release, Dance Macabre, drew critical acclaim and quickly dubbed "Garage Celtic". Soon after, the addition of Michi Regier (fiddle) and Richard Miller (drums and percussion) turned Water Street Bridge into the fully grown four headed monster it is today. These veterans of stage and studio blend Celtic, blues, Americana, shanty, jazz, Creole, folk, art rock, reggae, comedy and original songs into something that can only be described as “eclectic acoustic.”

Brandishing an impressive arsenal of musical instruments (including guitar, resonator guitar, mandolin, ukulele, reso uke fiddle, pennywhistle, squeeze box, flute, harmonica, concertina, bongos, doumbek, cajon, djembe, banjo, and bodhran - just to name a few) they bring new life to tales of old, old sounds to tales of today and twisted takes on tales never meant to be told. And often do it in 7/8. Just to keep everyone on their toes.

Their shows can only be described as a frenetic ball of energy exploding in a sea of swirling chaos, each song cascading from one cacophonous rowl to the next.

From the first note to the last, this high energy group keeps toes tapping, hands clapping, faces smiling and fills the room with an infectious groove sure to please young and old alike.
