Waves on Mars is a progressive rock band with blues and funk influences accompanied by powerful heartfelt vocals. Based out of the Denver/Fort Collins, Colorado area, W.O.M. have been together as a band for 2 years.
Waves on Mars has played shows as big as the Tatanka Music Festival in Boulder Colorado, where more than 30 bands performed for 3,000+ fans over the course of a summer weekend in late September of 2008, and as small as the intimate nightclub scene in Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins, CO.
At particular events such as the Tatanka Music Festival, Waves on Mars was performing on the same bill with prominent artists such as Big Head Todd and Rose Hill Drive.
Some of the bands’ biggest influences are artists such as Doyle Bramhall II, John Mayer and King’s X, just to name a few. They pride themselves on their hard driving rhythms and soulful tones. The members of Waves on Mars originally hail from all corners of the country. This fact really brings a great flavor to the bands’ sound and style of music that they produce. From the mean streets of New York City, to the Cajun influences of New Orleans, Waves on Mars brings an energy to each of their shows that gets people up out of their seats and fully involved in their shows.
