Wax Atlantic

Wax Atlantic began in 2012 as a nameless studio experiment for veteran Toronto musician Dave Dalrymple (ex Golden Dogs, ex Major Grange). Armed with a fresh batch of songs but lacking bandmates to flesh them out, Dave called on friends Neil Quin (Zeus), Jay McCarrol (Hayden, ex Jason Collett), Jeff Buckley (Make Your Exit), and producer/master of all musical trades Taylor Knox (Hayden, Rich Aucoin, ex Golden Dogs, ex Jason Collett) to lend their prodigious talents to the project.

Months of arranging, recording and rerecording at Illeagle Studios ensued and a collection of tunes that began life as catchy but low-key piano-driven songs slowly morphed into an epic rock suite of Queen, Wings and 00s indie-rock infused bangers and ballads. Wax Atlantic had emerged.

Despite having played only handful of shows in support of such local Toronto acts as Luke Lalonde, The Lovely Feathers and Fort York, Wax Atlantic (now Dave Dalrymple, Jason Haberman [Yukon Blonde], Jeff Buckley, Michael Brushey [Jenn Grant, Julie Doiron], Taylor Knox and Jay McCarrol) have generated considerable buzz, and will no doubt continue to do so after the official release of their self-titled debut album on April 3rd, 2014.
