Night Train

Night Train
Music: Wayne Monger, Jim Richardson,
Lyrics; Steve Winkley

I ride the night train northern down through Camden town to Waterloo
Get on the right train cloud my head by what we said and what we do

There’s no point in cool conversation
There’s no time for warm consolation
There’s no time for crocodile tears

I ride the night train my anger’s gone by Green Park on the jubilee
I’m on the right train at Oxford Street the barman keeps a glass for me

I dive into eastern block liquor
Helps me lose the whole plot much quicker
Soon I’m being led to the door to get on board that train once more

Don’t need companions on this fast track to nowhere
Stopping all stations to a place where I don’t care
I’ve lost my patience and I’m losing myself here
Never going to kick it
Got a one way ticket on the night train

My Luck’s About To Change

Written By: Steve Winkley

I hit my number on a game last night
And bought a ticket on a red eye flight
Walked out in Vegas hit the city lights
I think my luck’s about to change

Shave and a haircut brown velvet suit
Hundred dollar neck tie and gator boots
Looking for some lucky dice for me to shoot
I think my lucks about to change

I tipped the driver at the latest spot
The room was buzzin’ and my hands were hot
I wasn’t leaving till I’d won the lot
I think my lucks about to change

The cards were smilin’ the pots were piling
I tell you man I could do no wrong
The flock really delivered a straight flush on the river
Then a pretty little lady came along

I brought Manhattan’s and she brought me luck
I hit a streak and bet ten thousand bucks
House copped the bridal suite I grabbed a tux
I think my luck’s about to change

A little chapel where the preacher sings
My driver’s license and a diamond ring
I kissed the bride, the preacher kissed the gin
I think my luck’s about to change

She threw the flowers and we hit the track
I hit a double and we hit the sack
That woman’s lovin’ nearly broke my back
I think my luck’s about to change

Champagne flowin’, the bankroll growing
I had my new bride by my side
The cards kept dealing, I got the happy feeling
I think I’ve found my lucky charm

My head is pounding from the bridal bash
Woke up this morning with a nasty rash
She kept the diamond and she stole my cash
I think my luck’s about to change

Look’s like my luck’s about to change
I’m sure my luck’s about to change
