Wayside Loop

An often overlooked, untraveled path of creativity lay compellingly off the horizon. Four individuals, with diversities liken unto the four winds of the Earth, have undertaken this path. Out of the neccessity to birth a sound unlike anything they had previously constructed, the Wayside Loop had begun. Tony Mora (Bass/Slapticity) and Christopher Pendergrass (Voice/Percussion) have known each other since the tender age of five (for better or worse). Having reached many musical heights and sharing the stage with numerous National acts with their former band FLUiD/Eyesblind, they began to seek other creative outlets than simple honest brutality.
Enter Nick Cherry (Guitars/Atmosphere) and Garrett Spates (Drums/Backbone) who similarly have been lifelong friends since age four/five. Garrett and Nick had been chomping at the bit to jam with musicians of their caliber since the dissipation of their previous band Pheend. Having also attained great heights and attention in the Southern California scene, this left them wanting to taste the stage again. This combination of talent seemed destined to take shape, and once it had, startled the group with it's massive implications. Sonically delivering a soundscape of colorful imagery and riffing madness, Nick displays both a dexterous hand with an atmospheric mindset. Thunderingly funky, yet finessingly gentle Bass lines combine with devastating beats/groove laden percussive auras, for a balance not uncommon among the four. Imaginative and thought provoking lyrics demand to be investigated through out a multi-faceted vocal delivery; Encompassing a scope of throat grating growls, blusesque swaggers, and anthemic melodies.
Set to deliver a debut EP and a "No Holds Barred", truly passionte live experience, 2005 holds many beginnings these four young men from Hemet, CA. Wayside Loop is a departure from the norm in all aspects of the mundane and senseless. Close your eyes and open your mind.
