Bio
Six Piece Party Popsters, Who’s Driving? Bears Driving! have at last broken free from their dark, dank cave to smash their broken hearts and broken synthesisers all over town.
The band’s debut mini-album “There’s No Easy Way To Say This…” was released on Christmas Eve 2010 and has so far reached almost 1000 downloads in just under 4 months. The first single, “I Wish I’d Never Met Me”, found success on Scuzz TV reaching the top five of its new band chart. The follow “If You’re Gonna Dance (Like That)” went straight into the main playlist from April 2011 and is receiving regular plays.
Early 2011 found the band picked to be one of 35 bands from 600 submissions to be shortlisted for Groezrock Festival in Belgium, however due to prior touring commitments the band were not able to progress. The band began receiving regular airplay on BBC radio stations from the start of the year and this has continued since.
The band completed their first DIY headline tour in April 2011 playing to crowds across the UK in a stint of 14 shows in 16 nights. During their time on tour the bears received Best Newcomer at the Panic Awards 2011, one of only two awards
selected by an industry board rather than by a public vote.
The original sextet have supported acts such as The Wonder Years, Living With Lions, I Call Fives, With The Punches, The Dangerous Summer, Deaf Havana, Not Advised, Fei Comodo, My Passion and many more.
The band have recently recorded two tracks with producer Matt O’ Grady (You Me At Six). The two tracks are due for release in the UK through Hang Tight Records and the US. Earlier in the year the band supported The Dangerous Summer on some of their pre-Slam Dunk shows as well as playing the pre-Slam Dunk warm up show. Alongside this the band have recently been confirmed to play the first Far Out 2011 tour.
The bears are currently in the process of writing their full length album to record early 2012 as well as U.S. dates in support of the upcoming split release.
