The best kept secret in music

Press

"The Door Dallas - Dallas, TX"

"We Against = Great music, tight, well played, with great vocals and guitar. Stand up hard working guys." - Joel Fruth, 2005

"Asylum Club - Fort Worth, TX"

"We Against are solid in their approach to ministry and performance, winning over audiences in which they have played for." - Jeff Hall, 2004

"GarageBand.com"

"Man, this song [The Sleeper Must Awaken] really shines. Its got a helluva hook, and the singer just performs well. Nice scream, and the singing is refreshing. The guitars are very solid and not indesisive at all. The harmonizing in the vocals also works well. The drummer shows skill, especially the coordination between him riding the bell while in synch with the bass. I loved that. The guitars need to be a little more driven, to have that little extra punch. The vocals should be turned up just tad so I can hear him/ the band. Very well done."

Bio

With a burden in their hearts to express truth and hope through passion and intensity, We Against began making music in late 2001. Frankie Nicks (vocals), Billy Wiginton (guitar), Tasha Wiginton (bass), and Warren Kemp (drums) started out playing together at a variety of venues throughout the Houston and east Texas areas.

Over a period of a couple of years, band members changed and We Against began struggling. “We lost sight of why we started playing together in the first place,” says guitarist Billy Wiginton. “Things started to fall apart, and Tasha and I ended up being the only members left in the band.” Bassist Tasha Wiginton remembers, “We were determined not to quit. We felt like the change was necessary to get back to what we had started. I ended up shutting down our website for a while and just putting a quote by Frank Herbert on there that says, ‘Without change something sleeps inside us and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.’ That quote really spoke to me and we knew what was happening was a process of refining.”

The We Against that would emerge would be better than ever. Things came full circle for We Against in the summer of 2004 when Frankie Nicks and Warren Kemp returned to the lineup. “We share such a great brotherhood with each other…we could never find other band members that would fit in with us as well as Frankie and Warren,” explains Tasha. We Against has been playing the Texas scene with the original lineup for about 10 months now, has recorded an 8 song EP, and have made plans to extend their fan base beyond Texas with an independent US tour in the fall of 2005. Their melodic, yet intricately raw and riff oriented guitar, deep rhythmic bass, hard-hitting drums, and severely passionate vocals are drawing average audiences of approximately 100 people per show and attracting great reviews from the media including airplay on local radio shows such as The Zone on 100.5 in Lake Charles, LA, The Rock Show on 96.1 in Livingston, TX, and nationally syndicated radio show Spin 180.

Failure is not an option for We Against. With a strong release like The New Beginning EP, a concrete determination and vision, and an alluring sound that draws all walks of life, We Against is sure to win over the hearts of anyone who will listen.
