Bio
Weapons of Audio combine influences from a handful of genres to create their unique southern fried synthesized hip-hop soul. Backed by indie rock attitude and spearheaded by brothers Floyd and Jeremy Daniels, Weapons of Audio are the future of alternative hip-hop.
In October 2010, whilst living in Atlanta, the North Carolina natives released their debut album, BiPolar. After receiving warm reviews from sites like My Old Kentucky Blog and DJ Booth as well as video treatment for “If You Want Me” and “Boulevard,” Weapons returned to the studio and teamed up with Grammy award winner Graham Marsh (Cee-Lo Green – “Fool For You” f. Melanie Fiona, Cee-Lo Green- "F*ck You", "Bright Lights Bigger City”, Gnarls Barkley’s “Run” and Leona Lewis’s “Forgive Me”) to record and release a new dance floor party starter "Night Light."
The song mashes together live instrumentation and electronic compositions with a disco-funk vibe and sweet hook. Worldly and boundary crossing expressionism and dopeness is the end result.
Weapons Of Audio recently released "Night Light" - to initial critical acclaim. Allhiphop.com, the world's biggest hip-hop site, premiered the track as Alternative Heat in August and it saw its underground blog premier on SUPERGOODMUSIC.com, which called it "a certifiable bar anthem." “Night Light” has already been featured in the U.K.’s Clash Magazine, on URB.com and DJBooth.net and on L.A.’s tastemaker web-radio Hunnypot Unlimited. A Coors Light branding campaign with over 20,000 downloads, a freestyle session with Chris Webby and Chiddy Bang, an official CMJ performance and co-bills with Tokimonsta, Franki Chan, The Very Best, Jonwayne, Pac Div, Hey Champ, Capitol Cities, The Stone Foxes, Jhameel, Kosha Dillz and have only continued to elevate their buzz.
With fresh new acoustic footage on JamInTheVan.com and a new EP coming sometime in 2013 – Weapons of Audio will be invading a computer or stereo near you soon.
PRESS QUOTES
“W.O.A.’s latest track screams sexy, dope and most of all, catchy. This gem from east coast natives isn’t just for bloggers heavy rotation – Night Light is a must have in your back to school playlist.” – The SMKA Experience (September 2011)
“The handsome blood-brothers genre melting flow electrified a Dominion crowd on Friday night in a short set that included not only a Chuck Berry duck walk by guitarist Jeremy Daniels – but also their smanger, synthesized soul single “Night Light,” co-produced by the brothers and Grammy award winner Graham Marsh. Look out for this power duo of ATLiens turned Los Angelenos to takeover in 2012 and beyond.”- URB.com (October 2011)
“Dripping with energy and positive vibes, this party-starter is almost enough to make you forget about the whole “need for sleep” things.” – DJBooth.net (September 2011)
'Night Light' is played - an exotic, seductive riff of a song made for parties” – Clash Magazine (UK) (October 2011)
“WOA has caught our interest for a rhyme and reason, and “Night Light” is a weekend jam in support of wee hour partying. Therefore, I’m all for it. “You can do what you want, in the night light. When no body is watching, in the night light.” Enjoy!” – Trendland (October 2011)
I can only take so much hip-hop till I crack and beg to be scrambled with a pint of eclectic R&B. The new single “Night Light” by Weapons of Audio saved my life and made me get a little anxious for the night. – St. Johns University Campus Style (October 2011)
Premiered in August via Allhiphop.com, the record finds W.O.A hooking up with co-producer Graham Marsh to craft a synth-sizzling, four-on-the-floor backdrop for their tantalizing images of revelry” – DJBooth.net
“Weapons of Audio, a duo out of LA creates more than simply hip hop. With a heavy rock influence on some of their songs and an electronic feel on others, they release records to party to. “Night Light”, their newest single, is all about their catchy chorus that gets you up and dancing.” – Fab 4 (September 2011)
