Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla, of East Coast crew We A Problem announce the release of their first 2016 single, "Drop."

The pair drop this track as they prepare to head to Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest Music Festival.

About Ladi G & Ya Boy Skolla

Emcees Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla, of We A Problem, have released their first track of 2016, “Drop.” This is the latest from Ladi G since her 2014 mixtape T.E.R.D. (The Evolutionary Rap Diaries). For Ya Boy Skolla, “Drop” follows his 2015 mixtape Broken Silence.

Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla are two pieces of the We A Problem hip hop brand, completed by R&B vocalist Stefon. Ladi G, hailing from Brooklyn, New York, pulls inspiration from the legends of her home borough - the likes of Jay-Z, Biggie Smalls and MC Lyte. “I want people to go away being able to connect with my music and respect where I’m coming from,” says Ladi G. “I want to leave them seeing things from my point of view, know how I feel, and what it means to be from Brooklyn.”

Ya Boy Skolla got his start learning from his older brothers in the studio in Brooklyn. Releasing his first mixtape, On A Block Near You, at age 15, he’s been on a roll ever since. His flow has taken him on tour across the country and has allowed him to open for artists like Joe Budden and Sean Paul. Ya Boy Skolla credits his Southern upbringing for his signature sound. “I was born in NY but raised in the South, so you're able to hear the best of both worlds in my music as a solo artist.”

“It“It was crazy; we bonded right away like family,” said Ladi G of her first meeting with Ya Boy Skolla. Their chemistry was the start of the We A Problem family. They collaborated on multiple tracks and bonded instantly. Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla have already garnered attention for their tracks together. Their first single, "Look At Me," has over 20,000 views on YouTube, while their latest track "Get This Money", produced by Best Kept Secret/Flawless Tracks (Wale, Rick Ross, Meek Mill, MMG), is in rotation in dance clubs across the country. Keep an eye out for new music and show dates from We A Problem on theirofficial website. - Hip Hop On Deck

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

G: I’m great no complaints just taking it day by day out here working towards success.

YBS: We’re doing great; hope you are as well!

Can you talk to us more about your single “Drop”?

G: The single drop was written by Skolla and myself during a studio session we had scheduled in New York. I presented the track, produced by Flawless (MMG producer), to Skolla during the session and we began collaborating on the track instantly. We passed back and forth ideas and agreed that the track had a dope, energetic sound to it. We literally wrote and recorded the entire song in like 3 hours.

YBS: Drop is a high energy show stopper! The lyrics are polished and the overall sound is relevant. It’s guaranteed to make everyone at the club “Drop” by the summer.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

G: Nope, the musical chemistry between me and Skolla is strong. We ran back and forth with ideas until we developed a fun and entertaining concept for the track.

YBS: I think being in different cities/states and seeing the other clubs move was the biggest inspiration. We want to be relevant, but take things to a different level.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

YBS: Definitely; the video is actually done!! We’re currently waiting on the official release date.

G: Yes, yes – the release date for the music video for “Drop” should be dropping at the end of the month. I’m definitely excited about the video release.

So how did you become a part of the Hip Hop 4 Flint event?

YBS: Great management!

G: Our management team presented the show to us and asked if we would be interested in performing for the event. I responded like “Absolutely, that’s not even an option.” As an artist I feel like we are obligated to help raise awareness on all major issues affecting our community. Artist have the ability to grasp the attention of the masses through their craft. It is the responsibility of any person with that type of skill to help educate others on world issues such as the water shortage in Flint, MI.

What does participating in this event mean to you as artists?

G: It’s definitely a great opportunity to help people unify together for a great cause. Music is such a powerful tool. You can literally bring together people through good music. I’m excited and honored to be apart of this event.

YBS: It’s a way to give back. I think out of all genres, hip hop gets the most grief so it’s an honor to be a part of something so necessary and deeply rooted.

Can you tell us more about the acts playing?

G: It’s all good music, great vibes – artists coming together for a good cause.

What other way can people help?

G: Donate whatever you can to help fund the development of a new water system in Flint. Spread the word, educate others help to raise awareness so that this issue will no longer be ignored or brushed off.

YBS: I think your time is just as precious as money. The best thing I could say is to assess the needs and go from there.

What else is happening next in Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla’s world?

G: Just taking it day by day bracing ourselves for what’s to come.

YBS: More hits! We’re both working on individual projects and we’re looking at putting together a promo tour soon. We’ll definitely keep you all posted! - Vents Magazine

Ya Boy Skolla, Ladi G, Ace Sinna and Stefon comprise the unit known as “We A Problem” and are showing others what a real movement is within the Music Industry.

Not since the 90's Hip Hop era with crews like The Native Tongues (ATCQ, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, Monie Love & Queen Latifah) and The Wu-Tang Clan has a group of talented individual artists joined together to build a brand with a unique sound and style all their own. All originally hailing from parts of New York, it’s that Brooklyn love that has brought Hip Hop Lyricists Ya Boy Skolla, Ladi G and Ace Sinna together, while Queens born R&B Singer/Songwriter Stefon completes the 4 horsemen mentality, showmanship and lyricism which has made We A Problem more than just a name. While each now reside in various places on the East Coast (Ladi G & Stefon – Florida, Ya Boy Skolla – So. Carolina, and Ace Sinna – Atlanta & NY), its the ability to combine the soul of East Coast Hip Hop with the swag of the South that makes each member of We A Problem a force to be reckoned with. From gritty storytelling to soulful harmonies, each brings a unique flair to the unit that blends perfectly with each track made.

From the playful urban/pop radio first single “Get This Money” produced by Flawless Tracks (Wale, MMG), the talents of Ace Sinna, Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla compose a sing a long catchy hook that instantly becomes hard to forget. “We wanted to show that we know how to make a pure radio type song with a catchy hook, but if you listen carefully… we are showing skills in how we deliver the song to the masses” say’s Ace Sinna. “The club banger “Come On” is going to have the club on smash”, says Ladi G, the female of the collective, “With the way the track just takes over your body combined with our lyrical delivery, this is something that people wont expect from us, and its going to have all of our supporters going crazy… we have to give thanks to Kompl3x (a member of in-house production team De Immortalz LLC) for delivering a solid club hit because together we understand how to make the masses move”. “With the success we had with our first single, “Look At Me” from our mixtape “We A Problem – Vol. 1? released last year, we decided to come back with another track for the club/radio crowd… it just made good business sense”, chimes in Ya Boy Skolla when asked about the decision to go with “Get This Money”.

To complete the assault on the music industry, the inclusion of R&B singer Stefon into the We A Problem family was a well planned strategic maneuver. Stefon’s melodic five part harmonies and insightful lyrics adds a certain dimension that are missing from a majority of Hip Hop Cliques in the industry today. Formally of the Houston, TX singing group 713 Seville (appearing on Lil Flip’s “Underground Legend” and “Sucka Free Present: 7-1-3 & The Undaground Legend – Remixed”), Stefon is providing the soulful structure on the soon to be released We A Problem – Vol. 2 featuring stand out anthem tracks “In The Air” and “Dedication”. “Stefon has been that secret weapon within the camp that stops the crowds during the We A Problem shows” says DJ Reality, CEO of The Next Phase Entertainment LLC (Manager for the We A Problem Brand), “When the left, right, uppercut lyrical punch which is Ace, Ladi G, and Skolla lines up the crowd from their performance, Stefon comes in like an Tyson Knockout to get the females into the show and give the crowd a chance to recover… Its that much needed break for the ears and soul… We know we will be copied on the format…lol!” With the release of Stefon’s introductory street EP “A Lil Something 4U”, standout tracks like “More” which has women throwing undergarments during shows to the Tim Ned produced “G.B.F.”, which details what some men go through during a bad relationship, all to lead up to the official first single “Find Me”, produced by Luke Austin (K. Sweat, J. Holiday, MJB).

No matter what the future holds for Ace Sinna, Ladi G, Ya Boy Skolla and Stefon, with the quality of music that they are providing and the ability to innovate multiple genres, they are proving and standing strong behind the brand “We A Problem”… “We A Problem to anyone or any thing that comes our way”, states each member, “We A Problem to Hip Hop, to R&B, to any kind of music… We all are songwriters as well as having the gift to flow any track presented to us” say’s Ladi G, “We inspire and admire each other, but most importantly from those that have paved the way… but we are hard on each other to grow creatively in ways others would not understand” says Ace Sinna.

“Where ever we go… We A Problem is the battle cry” says Ya Boy Skolla, as Stefon breaks out in his trademark run of We A Problem, all the while laughing in the background.

The Music Industry has a Major Problem on its hands…. and while others speak about movements, Ace Sinna, Ladi G, Ya Boy Skolla and Stefon are stomping hard into its front doors, kicking it in and declaring “We A Problem”… - De Immortalz LLC Blogspot
