Straight from Atlanta, Ga., the group Passport is cleared for takeoff with their first single “Hostel”. Comprised of Coco Jones, Collin Gibson and Jawz of Life, Passport blends great sounds, strong lyrics and vocals to create great music. Directed by William Feagins for High Impact Multimedia, Hostel is the first single off of the highly anticipated Passport album “Customs” (Produced by Jay Travis).

We look forward to hearing more from this talented crew…Salute

"Passport - "Backtrack" [Video] & Customs [Album] Overview"

I got a preview of the album about 3 months ago and was impressed then when I heard the ruff copy. This Passport "Customs" album is like the High Evolutionary (a Marvel Comic reference) gene spiced the Fugees & Black Eye Peas together with some New Mutant X Factor genes from Mr Sinister (Another Marvel Comic reference) and came out with WorldWide Local (Jawz of Life), Current-C (Co Co Jones) and Sat Phone (Collin Gibson); the Passport.

What's funny is in a age when a lot of producers/artists got on some "I'm making POP Music" shit but then gave away SOUL music the Passport gives you access to DOPE music. The balance of the various influences of Hip Hop, Soul, Pop is incredible and not forced.

WorldWide Local (Jawz of Life) holds down the Hip Hop side of the equation with his bottomless bag of punchlines and comedic wit. Current-C (Coco Jones) is the soul of the group. Her vocals touches you in some way whether its the party song "Backtrack" or a reflective song "Memory Lane". Sat Phone (Collin Gibson) is the glue that connects all worlds together. Through his reflective lyrics when rapping or his pied piper pop vocals when singing he completes the full picture in each song.

The music is easy to listen to, understand and has a pleasant sound scape. It's rare that I'll say that a group is universal but the Passport has their book stamped in every country in the world. In today's world everyone should have their Passport.

Bio

Every 5 years or so, the clouds see fit to open up and bless us earth beings with a group of otherworldly individuals that bear the music of the gods. This usually occurs during times of creative depression and extreme musical duress.
This is one of those times.
Before the inception of PASSPORT, these three uniquely talented individuals created a major buzz within the underground music scene in Atlanta. This local buzz expanded nationally and internationally, landing each artist on stages everywhere from Minnesota to Bangkok. Individually, each member of PASSPORT is a seasoned veteran, with appearances and accolades including, but not limited to, an appearance on Oxygen Network's Bad Girls Club, writing and producing for Teddy Riley's production company, The Artist Factory, and membership in IMA and The Dungeon Family.
After meeting at Apache Cafe's "Tru Skool Tuesdays", a mutual respect began to form amongst the trio, eventually leading them to collaboration. They eventually realized that they were not three people making songs together, but essentially one group. As the sound began to take form, PASSPORT became a real, living, breathing monster in the music world.
Compared to such supergroups as The Fugees, N.E.R.D., and The Black Eyed Peas, PASSPORTS Collin Gibson and Jawz of Life mix their underground hip-hop backgrounds with Coco Jones' soulful singing and lyricism to form a sound straight from the future.
Ray Murray of Organized Noize said it best:
"This is so refreshing... exactly what the game needs."

The future is here, and their name is Passport.
