Pretty Ugly

 Seattle, Washington, USA
BandRock

Pretty Ugly's edgy sound and attitude hark back to rock in its most raw form. Combining elements that hark back to the birth of metal with punk-pop sensibilities, Pretty Ugly blasts a type of unrefined, viscerally raw music they endearingly dub "Dirtbag Rock N Roll." Biography

Pretty Ugly is a three piece band from the Seattle-Tacoma area. These sonsabitches play rock tunes the way rock should be played - full of anger, questions and rage against the unknown future! Not to mention their tremendously energetic live shows, loud and in your face, daring you to do something about it. Pretty Ugly brings to mind the days of old, when musicians didn’t give a shit about signing with a record label or what their image might be! Without fail they plug in their guitars, tap into their deepest & darkest emotions and leave everything on the stage. A Pretty Ugly show starts and finishes in a fury, as though the emotions coursing through their veins can barely be contained. These guys pump out tune after hard rockin’ tune with careless abandon and are still able to settle it down for an angry, disturbing ballad or two, made all the more mysterious by the haunting and agonizing scream of their mesmerizing lead singer. When the job is done, Pretty Ugly leaves the stage in utter disarray and amidst wailing feedback.
In February 2010 Pretty Ugly returned to Big Sound Productions with Steve Jones behind the board and recorded a seven track EP full of primal, emotionally soaked tracks intended to strike a nerve and spark controversial debate. The Tramp, touching on subjects like religion, pedophilia, infidelity, drugs & alcohol, domestic violence and suicide, is Pretty Ugly getting back to their roots. With 2011’s return of an old friend on Drums, Pretty Ugly is currently writing new material and planning a huge 2011.

Dying to be loved

Written By: C. Rambin J. Rambin

my heart has been a place to dwell
small & hopeless i have felt
the thoughts are trapped up in my mind
we cant speak just because it's
always always, never never

The tramp

Written By: C. Rambin, J. Rambin

He was born to an old womans Indian son straight to the trailer park
They had no money but the bottles always littered the floor, predisposed from the start
His momma died after diabetis came and left her fingers sore
Left alone with an alcoholic father yeah, you know he longed for more
Kicked outta school for slangin drugs to all the kids in class off to jail he went
Thats the story starring most of America, poor equals violence
(chorus)
Lets all wake up, there is no god and if there was Then I would like to have a word
Whats this about, sit and listen pay attention im gonna have my turn
Lets all wake up, there is no god and if there was Then I would like to have a word
Whats this about, sit and listen pay attention im gonna have my turn
Who are you to talk to me that way? Im the one that gave.
Who are you to talk to me that way? Im the one that gave.
Gave this, gave that, im the one that gave for you
Im the one that gave

So put your faith in a lord who said hed help you out
But tell me where were you
Dads working late, latch key kids sitting all alone
Most sexually abused
She fell in love . she had a couple of kids to fast
Said she couldnt breathe
She Killed herself with a bunch of the neighbors pills
Well thats what I believe
They never drank they never stole they always walked the the line
Church got its ten percent
Somebody said that their son was killed by a drunk
Crushed up against a fence

Leave me out

Written By: C. Rambin, J. Rambin

I HAD SOMETHING TO SAY ONCE, BUT I LOST IT
ALONG THE WAY I GUESS I'LL CHAK IT UP TO ANGST
GOODBYE TO YESTERDAY CAUSE I FEEL I'VE BEEN USED UP
NOW I'LL FALTER AT THE CUSP
TO LIE TO YOURSELF IS WRONG NOW I'M ASKING
PLEASE CAN'T WE GIVE IN AND CONCEDE
THAT I SHARE THIS DISEASE
WHERE MY LOVES LIKE CYMBAL CRASHES
LEAVING ALL OF YOU IN ASHES
X4 LEAVE ME, WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE ME OUT?!
I'M FILLED WITH DOUBT

TO LIE TO YOURSELF IS WRONG NOW I'M ASKING
PLEASE CAN'T WE GIVE IN AND CONCEDE
THAT I SHARE THIS DISEASE
WHERE MY LOVES LIKE CYMBAL CRASHES LEAVING ALL OF YOU IN ASHES

X4 LEAVE ME, WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE ME OUT?!
I'M FILLED WITH DOUBT

AND IF YOU WERE THIS SONG
BEAUTIFUL MELODY
THEN YOU'D BE THE MIDDLE EIGHTH
BEAUTIFUL MELODY

X4 LEAVE ME, WHY WON'T YOU LEAVE ME OUT?!
I'M FILLED WITH DOUBT
