"Toronto concert review"

A steady and carefully constructed positively groovy duo that has the ability to alternate between an airy ballad superior to early Grimes’ days or disco dance club tracks that will have you bounding up and down as it endlessly builds and builds and builds. Soldout possesses a certain “ultra cool” quality with a slick neo-noir feel that would feel at home alongside a Johnny Jewel score. - Ovrld

"The bubbly pop-duo"

This bubbly pop-duo, coming out of Brussels take to their music with an stylish electro 80's pop vibe that centers around the knockout vocals of singer, Charlotte, and the David who handles the effervescent production. They just released their new album, More, in Europe on Feb 25th. Of course we can’t buy the album over here yet, but thankfully we can hear some samples from the album. - Hilly Dilly

"Neon-bright, intelligent pop tunes"

With their brand new single “Wazabi”, Brussel’s flirtatious electronic duo Soldout filters neon-bright, intelligent pop tunes through dim, sexy baselines. - No fear of pop

"A brilliant balancing act between dark and poppy,..."

A brilliant balancing act between dark and poppy, 94 is less EBM’y than Soldout’s previous work. this has been replaced with an effortless Indie-ElectroPop hipness with relentlessly funky beats that play against the dramatic tension of plucked strings and a thick synthetic bassline. The song itself is quite whimsical, yet emotional, which adds the the sheen of detached cool. This could be Soldout’s big breakthrough moments right here. - Electronic Rumors

"Hope and Passion"

The precise combination, the tight production and Maison’s stunning and captivating vocal work make it to one of the better recent longplayers that wanted to recreate the good old days of synthie-pop. - Joaquin Vegas

Bio

SOLDOUT, the electronic duo founded in Brussels, released their new album "MORE" unveiling the bands new musical direction, where their singular sound is increasingly asserted.  MORE combines pop, melancholy and brutality. In their songs, obscurity is mixed with tenderness, and violence with fragility. This album resuscitates the past of electronic music with a resolutely contemporary sound.

Compared to The Knife, The Kills, The xx or Purity Ring, Charlotte and David are exploring the possibilities offered by electronic music to express a collision of sounds and feelings. The intensity of their live act will leave no one indifferent.

Past shows in North America: PopMontreal 2013, SXSW 2014, CMJ Music Marathon 2014, Toronto Indie Week 2014

Soldout drips a wonderfully weird wobble over some seriously cool pulsing beats

Its the concept of creating your own reality entirely by merging the future and the past that sets SOLDOUT apart. The idea that you have to look back to look forward has been explored before, but the idea that you have to look forward to look back is SOLDOUTs idea alone, and man does it sound good.

Theres a lot of classic synth music in Off Glory, most obviously the sound of mid-80s Depeche Mode with the EBM-esque bassline coupled with shining, bell-like, chords. Drop this onto a Robo Disco beast and add some infectiously catchy vocals and you have one of the best pure SynthPop tracks released this year. Displaying just the right amount of brooding so as to appear deep, but not overshadow the dance vibe, Off Glory perfectly captures the sound of SynthPop past, without sounding like homage or parody, and makes it relevant.
